Eagles Release Desean Jackson
Great talent, but a head case, a clubhouse cancer, and a genuinely bad human with gang connections.
I trust Chip and Howie on this one.

Sounds like 60% of the league...93henfan wrote:Great talent, but a head case, a clubhouse cancer, and a genuinely bad human with gang connections.

This was a cap move, plain and simple. $10.5 a year is a big amount for a one dimensional WR.

Me too, but I wish they could have found a way to trade him to a team outside the division. I don't want him in the NFC East.93henfan wrote:Great talent, but a head case, a clubhouse cancer, and a genuinely bad human with gang connections.

Wasn't really thinking anywhere in particular, but he would be a headache for the Eagles if he lands on any NFC East team. If it were up to me I would have traded him to the Raiders for anything I could get.89Hen wrote:You thinking Dallas?BlueHen86 wrote:

Usually it's the Redskins that give up good players who land in the NFC East. Flacco could use him.BlueHen86 wrote:Wasn't really thinking anywhere in particular, but he would be a headache for the Eagles if he lands on any NFC East team. Re: Eagles Release Desean Jackson
I don't think it was a cap move. Watching ESPN right now, sounds like Jackson didn't have good relationship with Chip and may have ties to a gang in LA. Even if gang rumor is not true, the Eagles got scared.DSUrocks07 wrote:Sounds like 60% of the league...93henfan wrote:Great talent, but a head case, a clubhouse cancer, and a genuinely bad human with gang connections.

I forget the exact items, but I seem to recall he had hundreds of thousands in cash alone, and hundreds of thousands more in jewelry taken from his home, and possibly firearms. Sounds like he's really mixed up with the wrong crowd.BlueHen86 wrote:I don't think it was a cap move. I really don't feel bad for him, and I'm an Eagles fan. I can only imagine how much fans of other teams must dislike him.

I never forgot that he spiked the ball at the 1 yard line, I hate when guys start celebrating before they score. I can live with the 15 yard penalty, but premature celebration is one of my pet peeves.93henfan wrote:I forget the exact items, but I seem to recall he had hundreds of thousands in cash alone, and hundreds of thousands more in jewelry taken from his home, and possibly firearms. I also didn't like the fact that he dogged it for a whole year because he didn't like his contract. Either hold out, or man up.
He is a great talent with a huge upside. I guess the Eagles got tired of the downside.

It was just a matter of time. This would have been his last year in Eagles green anyway.

Why?!?
Why not trade him to NYJ and actually GET something for him?

With his salary and current contract, you weren't going to get a lot for him. Most people were saying you'd get a 4th or 5th round for him. Once the gang stuff came out, you weren't getting that anymore.SuperHornet wrote:Why?!?

Rumors floating about Minnesota this morning.
I'm
and
at the same time if that were to happen.
I can't imagine it would though after they got rid of Harvin for acting like a tool bag as well.

Seems like an odd name for an Eagles album.

I feel the same way as you about him. I really hope that the chance to get back at the Eagle's twice a year will help motivate him into being a better team player and less of a gangsta. I won't be surprised if he becomes a waste of space with the Skins though, cuz that is what alot of players do there.

Sports talk around here is going to be fun if he does end up signing. Most of the local radio guys don't like the thought of bringing him in.
Best call today was a Philly fan calling in to say he was really upset that the Eagles let him go, but when he heard the Skins may sign him, he felt better about the decision.

Disaster waiting to happen in DC. I'm glad he stayed in the division, at the least it'll guarantee us more prime-time TV slots.

So who will go on the DL sooner? DaShawn or RG3?
