I'm going to have to go with: "photographing a news story"

And I'll add, the most trending news story in the country.

I've seen a lot of cops in Iowa using them.

I know this is a bad example to show how far they've gotten in terms of how "popular" but a good number of "cop dramas" are starting to have them appear on the cops person.

There's some debate over the use of them. Is your privacy being violated? I say no. People aren't against security cameras at the WaWa, why be concerned when law enforcement wears them? It's a great tool.

This is what really pisses me off about the case.

There are witnesses that are obviously saying different things.

The disconnect I haven't seen addressed yet is the Crenshaw video. The shooter doesn't look like he has any damage to his face. He had just been brutally assaulted and had a busted eye socket yet he managed to pursue the kid and shoot very accurately at a range that didn't leave any powder burns on the kid.
Not sure what the "Crenshaw video" is. Link?
I saw one video of him pacing near the body. I was, somewhat, looking to see if he showed any actions as to being injured. The camera was way to far away to see any marks on his face, but I was looking for him to put his hand up to his face/eye or something. I didn't notice it the one time I watched it, but I'll have to watch it again closer.
But still, I'm not sold that any of that would matter. it would help, but it would not be the one piece of evidence needed. The hospital would have taken photos and xrays. THAT is what is more important.
Congrats on noticing, your buddies won't touch it.. :thumb:

His uniform isn't even rumpled and he just struggled with and took a blow, that should have KOd him if it did break his eye socket, from a 300lb. kid. Instead he's out of the car in a flash, chases and guns the kid down within 35 ft. of the car with a nice tight group to the body and a couple of finishing head shots. He does this with a fractured skull. And then we get this story about week later and a half later, not long after the shooter has a girlfriend go to the media with his version of events in a move that would normally get him into deep kimche with his superior officers. I think if the officer had a fractured skull from the encounter he would have received prompt treatment and the xrays would have hit the street at least as quickly as the photo of somebody alleged to be Brown stealing cigars.

I've seen several interviews of Dorian Johnson. I have to say that many of his accounts have been consistent from one interview to another. He has made a couple of unintended mistakes but I don't think they are of major concern.

But one thing I have been wondering is:

He said Wilson told them to "Get the fuck on the sidewalk" after having driven right up next to them. Then he pulled away, but then stopped and backed up rapidly and stopped on a diagonal where he essentially blocked the whole road. Apparently, this maneuver was such that he stopped mere inches from them, and he tried to open the door but it only opened an inch or so before hitting Brown and (to lesser extent) Johnson.

First, while possible, it seems to be a long shot that he could back up rapidly and stop that close to them. And the more likely possibility would be if he turned the wheel to the left (vs. the right) while backing up and stopping in a diagonal position. (I have not seen what direction he turned to get in that position.)

Second, what made Wilson stop and back up after initially pulling away? Several theories can be made here, but the most probable is that they made no effort to get out of the road. Maybe they yelled something as he pulled away. Maybe Wilson caught a glimpse of the cigars as he pulled away. I don't know. It will be interesting to find out.

But getting back to the first point, could it be that after backing up, Brown and Johnson approached the car, thus placing them so close?

Anyone have any thoughts here?

Tell me how a 300 lb person can have so much trouble escaping from a person's grip in the situation as described (i.e. officer seated in car, reaching out with left hand (not sure if dominant hand or not), etc.). And while trying to escape, he turned to Johnson and told him to hold the cigars. Honestly, that sounds more like a person attacking the cop rather than a person trying to break free.

You don't think Detroit is a war zone? Do you think people are being shot in a friendly game of chicken?

You don't think there is a war going on in LA? Perhaps they play checkers to determine turf boundaries.

Yes, because when we have more deaths and shootings in a weekend in Chicago than in Baghdad, you can classify the Iranian deaths as casualties of war, but the American deaths are simply about gun control. :dunce:

Don't get wild on me, my point is that he doesn't look like he just had a 300lb kid halfway in the car with him going for his gun, you'd think he'd bust a button or something, maybe he did, I don't know. As for being left-handed, IF he is then the story is certain bullshit since the eye he would have sighted with wasn't available because of his busted eye socket.

And tell me how the officer wasn't KOd by a blow that fractured his eye socket. I suspect we'll find the source of these x rays to be some right-wing wackjob like BDMBFK or Teabagged who got them from a textbook or something...

And the girlfriend story is more than a little weird, you know he was told to lay low and shut up. Maybe he figures the real story as he sees it isn't going to be told.....

You can fracture a bone and not get knocked out. I know Sean Casey the baseball player. He got hit in the face on a throw to first that he wasn't ready for or looking. He didn't get KO'ed. Suffered same injury. I'm guessing much worse than dough boys punch. Just saying.
