Already the butt hurt is starting with Liberty. Already the ridiculousness is beginning:
Liberty Poster
"It seems that we were simply resting for Coastal. If it would have been Coastal, I'm sure Woodrum would have played. Our offensive play calling was not creative at all. Yet, we still were in the game after being outgained by 200 yards. Even if we had won the CSU game, playoffs were not a given. If we win against Coastal, we are in for sure. I don't really care for this line of thinking, but we'll see if it pays off Saturday."
Because it's perfectly normal to take a game off when you're tied for first place with two game to go?
If CCU is loyal to the Conference more than Anti Liberty they should rest some players to prepare for the playoffs. This gets the BSC 2 teams in the Playoffs for the first time ever. This makes the Conference look better, thus making CCU look better, thus making KK look better, thus leading to another conference offering KK a job....
Liberty leads the conference in RECEPTIONS, INterceptions, PUNTING, RECEIVE YDS/GAME, FIELD GOALS/GAME, SCORING (KICK), and FIELD GOAL PCT .
Coastal leads the conference in Rushing, Passing, Total Offense, Kick Return, Scoring (Game), Scoring (TDs), PAT kicking %, Tackles per game, forced fumbles, fumbles recovered

Coastal wins, 42-28.
I don't necessarily agree with the use of 'resting' but Flame-Boy has a point. It's a long season complete with ebbs and flows and guys can't always keep that maximum edge -- especially when the following week is for all the marbles.
What it does is create a 'must-win' for Liberty, otherwise, only CCU moves forward from the BS into the playoffs.

It sounds like an excuse that coincides with the secrecy/confusion behind Woodrums "injury".
Liberty is pumped for this game. We just had Coach Gill come this morning for our weekly Convocation service. Also our starting QB. Josh Wooddrum is active and ready to go on sat ( He did not play VS. CSU due to leg infection. which allowed our red shirt freshmen qb to come in and play. ) That being said do not think this will be a walk in the park Coastal fans! Liberty 33 Coastal 30

Really? Last week it was a knee injury. Now it's a infection from a cut? Yesterday he went from "probable to questionable" according to Chris Lang. Also, after having open practices all season, it's now closed. You guys working up a #6? It could be a close game, but CCU is firing on all pistons. Coastal wins.

I am going by the "Flames Nation" article i read this morning. From my understanding during the Monmouth game 2 weekends ago he suffered a gash to his leg. During the week preparation for CSU the gash in his leg then became infected last Wednesday which caused him to be sidelined Saturday vs CSU. However this is my understanding. But I myself as well have heard many different stories on wooddrums injury. You are also very correct about the open practices to closed practices. I have barely seen many football players around campus since Sunday. Including my good friend. This not only the biggest game of coach Turner Gills tenure at LU but also the biggest game for LU's football program in history. I will say Coastal will be going far in the playoffs no matter what happens Saturday. Those LB's are NFL ready.

The information coming out of LU is conflicting and unusual, that's all. Maybe it's to psych us out .
Im rooting for Coastal. Although an at large spot for CSU isnt likely...our best hope is CCU finishing #1.
After losing to both these teams I give the edge to Coastal even though that game was closer in score. Too much talent. I disagree on CSU, don't see any hope with only six D-1 wins and a loss at home to the Hose. Maybe if you had beat Vandy.........
Dizzy_King wrote:And there goes the dagger... #6 Josh Wooddrum our junior QB will not be playing sat. No way we beat CCU with a Redshirt Freshmen QB. Tough break
But Gil said he would! Well, this is a great opportunity for Masha. If it were any other game, i'd be sympathetic and say I hope your boys can rise above it. But, not this week.

CSU has no shot. Unless you beat Georgia, and a few other teams screw the pooch.
No, not even then. Sorry.
Unfortunately. ..you're right. Im just holding on to some irrational hope man. That PC loss killed our shot. Really Vandy ruined our season. Team dwelled on that damn game for 2 weeks after.
Short of the biggest upset in history...we'll finish 8-4 with a lot to build on. Not too bad a season for CSU. But damn....if we could've gotten that last few yards vs Vandy...what could've been.
With the LU quarterback out...I say CCU by 14 or more. CCUs defense is overwhelming at times. Bad news for aj offense without its QB. Hope CCU wins and gets a home game and makes a run.
I don't want to put the whammy on youse guys (or myself) but if Coastal kicks it around (like they did against A&T) and the Flamers can run the ball (to take pressure off the QB and keep CCU on the sideline), things could get interesting in Whorey County this afternoon ...
