He can still finish classes this summer and transfer but the timing might not be enough to win the job. In any event, it's up in the air whether he can practice before August 14th. All he had to do was pass a math requirement.

The only real doubts I had were WRT whether or not he passed the math class. Once he finally made it onto the field it was a no-brainer. Oregon doesn't take that kind of risk unless they're fairly certain he's going to be very competitive for the #1 spot.
