Yeah, the new joint is nice, but the Spectrum f'ing rocked. :notworthy:
Just wish I was there for Game 6 in the 1987 finals. I don't think anyone denies that was the loudest the Spectrum ever got. Quite funny that Mike Emerick was calling that one too...

And yeah, 89, I'm sure you'd tell her to get lost if she came up to you in a bar.

Damn, just watched that video again. I was at my childhood house in the rec room and think I hit my head on the ceiling from that goal.

Jesus. Hawks tie it at 1 all with minutes remaining. Gonna be tired as shit at work tomorrow, but no way I'm hitting the sack until this one ends. :geek: :geek:

Nice win for the Flyers last night, I think we have our goalie now the rest of the way versus the carousel barring injury. What's the word on Crosby, how close is he to playing or will he play at all again.

Looks like there is slim chance Crosby will play in these playoffs...

My friend is a die-hard Pens fan and has been to all 4 playoff games (including the game tonight, he's driving up there now) who knows someone within Pens management. Rumor is that someone within the organization doesn't see the Pens having a realistic shot at winning the cup, so he doesn't want to risk further injury to Crosby this season; they'd rather bring him back 100% next year along with Malkin and a few key acquisitions to help bolster their offense and power play. Not sure who this 'someone' is or how much pull they have concerning whether or not Crosby plays, but it's an interesting viewpoint to say the least. Ouch, huh?

It's a shame though, cuz you always want to beat the best a team has to offer so there are no excuses later. Everyone knows I'm a Caps/Ovie fan, but the NHL without Crosby is just not the same. The bastard is just too damn good.

Mine too....1 for 30 on the power play doesn't help too much, I don't think...Pen's big advantage though is playing at home....I'll definitely be watching this one tonight. :thumb:

If Pittsburgh wins they get the Flyers in Round 2, right? Could you imagine the target on his helmet if he comes back for that series?

No - If Pittsburgh wins tonight they play the Caps if Boston wins too. If the Habs win & the Pens - then it's Pens-Flyers

assuming Pittsburgh wins:
If Montreal beats Boston, then Washington gets Montreal and Philly gets Pittsburgh
If Boston beats Montreal, then Washington gets Pittsburgh and Philly gets Boston

And you're 100% correct, right or wrong, that he would have a huge target on his head if he came back. It's not in the best long-term interest of the Pens do allow him back though...

Yet another wild finish and OT for game 7. Habs tie the Bruins with just under 2 minutes left. Lightning up on the Pens 1-0 after two... could be another OT game 7.

I just heard that today was the 9th straight day that there has been OT. The NHL playoffs have been pretty fun so far this year.

How does a team blow a 3-1 series lead...get outscored 13-4 in their last 3 games...and lose game 7, AT HOME, 1-0... :ohno:

Yeah, there's a whole second round to be played first, but Caps-Flyers would be so good for this thread.

Interesting fact....both 1, 2 & 3 seeds advanced, as well as both the 5 seeds.

Or for the glass-half empty guys....both 6, 7 & 8 seeds lost, as well as both the 4 seeds.
