Just highlighting that there are many items that go into the testing of masks. Material and fit are just two of them.
I'm pretty sure this mask discussion was had about a year ago as anyone with a brain knew the absurdity in claiming the masks less than N95 served a purpose. Now the science has come in to backup the claim that they are mostly useless. Yay science.

I haven't been following "The Science", just "The Medicine", and haven't seen any wavering from places like the Mayo Clinic. When Mayo comes out with a study saying Masks have no use, then I'll believe them. Many people, including favorite politicians and favorite news media, Fox, CNN, still don't understand what the mask is suppose to do.

Under control is a nebulous phrase and there are many factors including location, world wide vaccination rates, travel amd migration. Could be years could be 2022 if/when medicine improves.

For me, following the data is a much better alternative then getting the "bad spirits" drained out of me. But then again, I think that leeches should only be used as fishing bait.

You might be missing Gil’s point. He didn’t say medicine should be separated from science.

But some school districts and cities have disregarded the ban and gone forward with implementing a school mask mandate.
The ban on mask mandates is in violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act and the Rehabilitation Act, the plaintiffs allege in the lawsuit.
Under the ADA and the Rehabilitation Act, public schools cannot exclude students with disabilities or segregate them unnecessarily from their peers. Schools are also required to provide reasonable modifications to allow students with disabilities to participate fully.

Today's "Science" is politically and monetarily driven, with very little truth being released to the general public thru news media and the internet. Physicians take a Hippocratic Oath to help people. When a person finds a Doctor that they believe is truly following the oath they gave, they are usually using the best studies, testing available, and data, to treat their patients. "Science" in today's world is one of the most overly used terms to spread fake news and political agenda.
