This has been a great series. I think TV was worried when Pittsburgh (Crosby) and Washington (Ovechkin) got knocked out, but the Flyers and Hawks have played a great series.

Strange series for Leighton. At times he was outstanding, but he let in too many soft goals.

Dammit.

I was pulling for the Flyers, purely on the fact that I wanted to see Hossa lose it AGAIN.

Definitely an odd finish to the season though. ending on a goal that wasn't even signaled at the time.

On a sidenote, last year many Redwings fans (and others) bitched about Crosby celebrating for a bit before going through the handshake line. Yet Chicago spent quite a bit celebrating themselves. However I doubt there will be as much complaining. (I have no problem with the celebration though, last year or this year.)

Wow, what a moment for Kane and the Blackhawks. I'm sure that'll take some of the sting out of the loss to Canada, just too bad it wasn't against Sid.

That was actually a pretty entertaining game last night. Of course, I passed out on the couch for about, um, maybe 15 minutes. 3 minutes before OT started and then I woke up a few minutes after the game ended.

Congrats to the Blackhawks! Only to the players though, not the fans. The fans had nothing to do with it.

Congrats to the Blackhawks! They really controlled the last two games. Matt, PM me with your hat size, and go on the Harvard apparel website to let me know what style you prefer. I have the classic maroon (not really "crimson") wool hat with the solitary white "H" on it, but there are many more options.

So, after winning two Cups in their first seven years of existence, the Flyers have now lost the last six Stanley Cup Finals they've played in. Is that a record?

Looks like it, unless I missed something.

Detroit lost 6 finals in a row from 1956 thru 1995, but won in 1997
Toronto lost 6 finals in a row from 1933 thru 1940, but has won several since.

The longest current streak appears to be the Flyers at 6 and then Briuns at 5.

Toronto last won the Cup in 1967 and hasn't been to the finals since.

Same thing happened to me during the last World Cup. Dozed off when the Germany-Italy game was still tied 0-0, and woke up to see Italy celebrating.
