He wouldn't be picking her to bolster MN, he's picking her for President. He has to be careful, he needs Berners and blacks to turn out in big numbers
Well, it looks like picking a white person from Minnesota is pretty much out of the question now. Klobuchar's chances have literally dropped to zero just overnight through no fault of her own.
They have just entered negative territory.
he Minnesota senator Amy Klobuchar, a former Democratic presidential candidate, has faced backlash for what critics have called a tame demand for “a complete and thorough outside investigation”, and is now being questioned on her record. Between 1999 and 2007, Klobuchar, the state’s then top prosecutor, declined to press charges against more than a dozen officers accused of killing civilians.

In 2006, Chauvin was one of several officers involved in the shooting death of a man who stabbed others before turning on the police.

Although Klobuchar was the Hennepin county attorney at the time of an October 2006 police shooting involving Chauvin, she did not prosecute and instead the case went to a grand jury that declined to charge the officers with wrongdoing in 2008.

Yup. Whoops.

The hell of it is that she probably declined to prosecute because it was a legit shooting. More bad luck/bad timing for her - wouldn't be surprised to see her be offered a gig in the administration though. She does know how to get shit done.

And Caramel Harris’s chances have shot upward through no asset of her own. :ohno:
That could be why he's waiting until August to announce - let things sort themselves a bit. He's in a hell of a fix thats for sure. I think he should float a rumor about Michelle Obama, just to watch the spontaneous combustions.

Although the more I think about it I think that the most fun to be had (speaking of spontaneous combustions) rests in Trump getting reelected and the Senate turning Blue......now that would be some entertainment.....Trump would be squealin like Ned Beatty in Deliverance while Nancy and Chuck spit-roasted him

You think his handlers would let him make a decision like that in this kind of fluid situation? Why?

Well, nothing fluid around Klobuchar now - she's definitely off the list. White person from law and order in Minnesota is a definite no for this election cycle.

Abrams as VP would be an entertaining outcome - not as entertaining as reelecting Trump and flipping the Senate but up there. I'd invest in panty shields - Ivy's increased use alone would move the needle on the stock price.

The Congresswoman who was previously a cop who rose to be chief of Orlando PD had a very good piece yesterday, I think in WaPo.

I hear she’s on the possible VP list. She is infinitely more experienced both on the executive AND legislative sides than any of the other possibles.

Now Biden has to walk this tightrope:
-He has to bash the police enough to mollify his loony left base, but not bash the police and turn off independents.
-He can’t criticize the rioters and looters without then going into ‘but appeasement’ to mollify his loony left base, but he has to criticize them enough to not turn off independents.

Its going to be funny to see him stumble all over this..

She was largely respected by the minority communities in Orlando. And it hasn’t kept her from winning a seat in the House.
