The abortion debate boils down to one point, pro-lifers view the unborn as a person, pro-choicers (or whatever you'd like to call yourselves) don't. If the two sides could agree to this (either way), there would be no debate.

That is accurate - but it kinda takes all the fun out of it...

On one hand, you have reasonable, sane, high-order thinking people in this debate who believe that a woman's body is hers and hers alone and she should not be at the wrong end of both barrels of the state or religious organizations' wrath for making any reproductive decision.

On the other hand, you have a world full of brain-dead Conk zealots.

I can think of a number of examples to the contrary. :coffee:

But if you are right then I don't know why anyone is arguing. Means pro-lifers will be ruling the world in a generation.

Now that hurts Joe. I was being sincere when I said you had made some very persuasive arguments right up to the pro choice bit. I did point Cleets use of satire, but as I suggested, he probably felt it obvious enough to not claim it.

But hey, you go on thinking you owned us. :thumb: :kisswink:

Debate Rule # 3
Whenever you see statements that include everybody from an entire group - I can assure you at that exact moment you're reading either and emotional claim with little to no merit or you're reading a generalized statement designed to elicit a response... and take you off your winning trajectory

We all know
Pretty much all pro-life advocates secretly like it when abortion doctors are killed

We all also know
That most Pro-life advocates agree with the destruction of clinics where abortions can be performed

Now we all know these things to be facts - no further debate is required

We also know that all Pro-choice advocate use the word choice instead of abortion or murder because they secretly are ashamed of their belief system where womens body's are not property to be managed by the federal government

Also, we all know that a human life form is present at the moment of conception, as a matter of scientific fact, but that the leaders one of the groups mentioned above actually test-marketed the name by which they label themselves to obscure this fact.

And, we all know that, when the Berlin Wall existed, those who scaled the wall, to get to the other side, all came from one side of the wall.

Plus my original statement dealt with the leaders of the pro-choice movement, not everyone who calls themselves "pro choice," but forget it, Cleets is rolling ...

It was a popular expression when I was young .... ball busting

Now I'm confused. Were you joking that you never heard that expression?

This may only be a ripple, but the tides of change are coming for those that can't speak for themselves. :thumb:

Though most states have restrictions against late-term abortions, two states moved bills this week that would make those restrictions tighter. The Kansas Senate passed a bill Wednesday prohibiting most abortions after the 21st week of pregnancy. At the same time, the Idaho Senate backed a similar proposal with a 20-week threshold.

The bills were modeled after legislation passed last year in Nebraska premised on research suggesting a fetus is able to feel pain after 20 weeks. Similar proposals are percolating in at least nine other states, according to one organization's estimate.
