FCS Cupcake Feast
Re: FCS Cupcake Feast
Fargo Bison just joined the idiot pool.
You can play the lower division games you want. UND isnt shy about that and neither is the Big Sky. NDSU beat the tar out Montana as a D2, that is a fact, but the game should have been listed as exhibition, just like all lower division games that dont count toward playoff eligibility. They should be notated exhibition and not included in the won loss. Now it doesnt get any simpler than that, unless you are in the idiot pool

Final score was 25-24. I watched the game and it took at fake field goal with a couple minutes left to win. I'm not sure how that's "beating the tar out of them."JBB wrote: NDSU beat the tar out Montana as a D2, that is a fact,
For the strength of the Herd is the Bison and the strength of the Bison is the HERD
GO BISON!
GO BISON!
Re: FCS Cupcake Feast
Well thundering herd, the game was 8 years ago so you probably saw bits and pieces of it between diaper changes and missed most of the second half because of nap time? You may recall the score was 24-2 in favor of Montana at the half.
The BISON pitched a shutout in the second half outscoring the Grizzlies 23-0 and simply out-coached and out-played them. They got the stuffing knocked out of them.
When the dust settled The BISON won on the scoreboard and in the box score with the stats in their favor as well. There was nothing left for the Grizz to hang their hats on, no bill fette to save them, they simply had the tar knocked out of them by a superior football team on their home turf while looking for what they thought was going to be a routine win.
I remember Phil Hansen saying before the first half ended that Montana was dishing out some big time hits on the Herd and if things didnt change it was going to be a long second half. Well things did change, about halfway through the second quarter when the BISON started to storm back putting a safety on them.
Its a game that should have been notated as exhibition and not counted on the schedules. It didnt count for NDSU and actually cost them a playoff spot. I dont know how much more proof you need that the game didnt count any more than the lower division cupcakes the BSC, for whatever reason, continue to schedule year in and year out. I have no problem with it but they are exhibition games and should be shown on the record as such because they dont count.

Would somebody close to JBB's area please stop by and pick him up and run him by the hospital. Have them run a rape kit on him as well. This has just been an epic beating.
Poor fella, look at him.

Well, I haven't really bothered to follow this thread for like 10 pages and I don't want to go after Hauck (it's been played out), but a) it is debatable how "good" of a game coach/manager he ever was, and b) that was his 2nd career gameScreamin_Eagle174 wrote:^^^ This post doesn't count.JBB wrote:Well thundering herd, the game was 8 years ago so you probably saw bits and pieces of it between diaper changes and missed most of the second half because of nap time? Very astute observation for someone that has shown little brain. You are partially correct.houndawg wrote:When you win it's beating the tar out of them. Beating the tar out of a team is always associated with a win. You cant beat the tar out of a team an lose.
Beating the stuffing out of a team, and this is where it gets complicated (think function F(x)), has to do with the opponents performance the following week. You beat the stuffing out of a team when they lose the following week no matter if your team wins or loses.
In a side note, has anyone one of you geniuses caught on to the point that

So Silenoz, you and I both agree the Grizz were out-coached. The only remaining question is this: Did they get the stuffing knocked out of them? Clearly they had the tar knocked out of them.

EWU beat the tar out of NDSU. NDSU didn't beat the stuffing out of EWU.JBB wrote:Very astute observation for someone that has shown little brain. You are partially correct.houndawg wrote:

Re: FCS Cupcake Feast
I honestly did not see it because I did not have my season tickets back then and did not finaggle a ticket to the game. And then I quit watching at half-time (sacrilege to me now, but at the time it made sense considering it was a DII and a blowout)JBB wrote:So Silenoz, you and I both agree the Grizz were out-coached.
