After the handshake line, when the home team loses they all gather & raise their sticks & salute the fans who actually sit there & cheer for their team saying thanks for a great season guys. Huh? OK, if you're an underdog & you fight & claw your way through a long, tough series maybe but the way the Flyers played against the Devils I was almost embarassed watching some of those sheep there after the handshakes last night.
I was at the 2010 NC debacle in Frisco & I can tell you there weren't any UD fans standing up & clapping & cheering after losing the NC game. People couldn't get out of there fast enough.
Verdict on this new thing: a BIG

Well actually it's my understanding that it originated in MSG with the Rangers & we Philly fans despise all things NYC sports so that could be part of it too....

Don't the Rangers usually do it after a win?bluehenbillk wrote:Well actually it's my understanding that it originated in MSG with the Rangers & we Philly fans despise all things NYC sports so that could be part of it too....
I'm okay with the Rangers doing it but I don't think the Flyers should copy it. It's the Rangers thing, let them have it. For that matter, Phillie fans should stop throwing visiting player HR balls back, it's a Cubs thing.

I am rooting for the Caps in game 7 though. I'd rather face the Caps than the Rangers in the next round.

You are correct. They do it after every home win.bluehenbillk wrote:Well actually it's my understanding that it originated in MSG with the Rangers & we Philly fans despise all things NYC sports so that could be part of it too....
It started in the NHL as an idea of Darius Kasparitis during the first year back from the lockout to thank the fans after their wins. They have done it after losses to end playoff series too.
It is cool to watch the team do it but I see why fans would not like after a loss (Ranger fans excepted since they started the tradition in the NHL)

Kings have had a bit too much time to rest imo. With the rhythm they have been in, this many days off can be no good.

I don't agree. Playing every other night at playoff tempo is tough on the body. A few days rest is a good thing. Don't forget that the Coyotes will be in the same boat.SDHornet wrote:Kings have had a bit too much time to rest imo. With the rhythm they have been in, this many days off can be no good.

Effffff. We don't get NBCSN down here in lower DE. Can't believe I'm going to miss game 7.

I'm in Quebec tonight, watching the Frog Hockey announcing team. They aired a regular season, opening face-off brawl between NY and NJ, captioned "taste of what we can expect in the playoffs."
and the Nordiques are coming back, bitches!

Glad you were right on this one. Good to see the Kings get the win even when they didn't get the bounces.89Hen wrote:I don't agree. Playing every other night at playoff tempo is tough on the body. Is that right. I watched about 30 seconds in the middle of the second period. I'm just way too bitter and hate the Rangers and Devils too much to care. Unfortunately one of them has to win.CAA Flagship wrote:Rangers 3
