Huxley & Orwell were considered opposites in regards to their vision on the future...
What's so strange is we have about a 50/50 mixture of their visions happening right now:
Orwell predicted: Books being banned - which has come true to an extent
Huxley predicted: Books would not need to be banned as we will become too lazy to read or gather independant information...
Orwell predicted: Information Control
Huxley predicted: Too many unfiltered information sources - which would allow propaganda to conceal itself as information
Orwell predicted: The truth would always be encrypted
Huxley predicted: we would be buried in a sea of irrelevant information
Orwell predicted: Mind control and captive ideologies
Huxley predicted: a trivial culture where entertainment was more important than any truth
Orwell predicted: Pain and suffering as a control mechanism
Huxley predicted: Pleasure and instant gratification would become our gods
if you look at the world - we have about a 50-50 split of Orwellian states with China and the Middle East and we have Huxley states as in America and Europe...
