Seriously, after the November elections, Obama will still be POTUS and they will still likely have a majority in both houses. They just won't has as much of a majority and will really have to work with the Republicans to move legislation. If they're willing and able to work with moderate Republicans on compromises the ultra-conservatives are going to end up looking like obstructionists and it will hurt their chances in 2012. Legislation with true bipartisan input is usually better legislation. This isn't the end of the new world order that many of the talking heads want people to think it is.

Republicans have a decent chance to take the house. Charlie Cook has it at 50-50, and he's one of the top political handicappers in the country. That's why much of Washington, Republican and Democrat, pays $295 for a yearly subscription to his political report.

Didn't know that but I'm not sure if it really changes anything. Dem's will still control the WH and Senate but will need work with Rep's to pass anything of substance. Plus if the economy/job situation stays in the crapper for a couple more years as it seems it might then the Rep's will be in a position to share in the blame. It's easy for them to sit on the side and criticize but there will be more pressure to produce results if they have more control in the House.

Senate isn't a lock either. It's still a long shot but Republicans are leading strongly in races for 5 seats currently held by Dems and are even or hold small margins in 5 others according to Zogby. November is 10 mos away and a lot can change but if the elections were held today Republicans could very well take the Senate.
