Just went though all the posts and links in this thread and I would definitely take the Bobcats QB over any of the other recruits. UNI WR 2nd. :thumb:

C'mon now...just giving you a hard time :) ....BUT...I would think #16 in the country would merit a few more BCS school offers
You're not considering that Simmons only got 4 games in for his senior year. Had he been healthy the whole season, there is a good chance we wouldn't have even gotten him, and more BCS offers would have been there.

Being injured the majority of his senior season probably cost him a few offers. JMU runs almost the exact same offense as WVU. This kid is almost a clone of Noel Divine, just not as highly rated coming out of HS. Simmons listed 5'8", 170, 4.39, #16 All Purpose Back by Rivals coming out of HS, Devine listed at 5'8", 175, 4.4, #1 All Purpose Back coming out of HS. Why WVU wanted Simmons.

(again, Rivals doesn't show WVU as offered, but Scout.com and the Virginia Pilot does)
Simmons probably isn't even 170. Hopefully will do similar to Devine: Add a few pounds of muscle, drop the body fat a couple percent, and increase a little his already blazing speed. Anyway, in 2-3 years I see Simmons playing for JMU at 170-175ish, 180 tops. JMU will probably use Simmons in a similar fashion. Early in his career returning kicks and limited coming out of the backfield- utilizing his blazing speed (as a jr was the VA AAA state 100 meter champ, 10.43 electronic timed, legal wind) mostly running outside the tackles). Coming out of HS the fastest recruit JMU has ever signed.

Watch out for Stony Brook. They may get the first Big South Auto Bid.

Thanks...I hadn't read anything on him...that certainly does explain a lot.

You're right BigSkyBear we would be all over this guy because it is actually a possibility that we could get a player of this caliber because we are winners, where your team has not even a remote possibility of landing a player of this caliber. This is and will always will be the difference between your team and my team.

Definitely, star ratings are completely over hyped. Offers are where it is at. Plus rivals doesn't even care about states like ND, we signed the best player in the state this year, he is quick and ran for 2600 yards and 40 TDs, had a offers from regional FCS schools. Rivals and scout don't even mention him. Heck, our best offensive and defensive players of the past decade were zero star recruits and I am pretty sure scouts and rivals didn't even give them a profile.
Sac State signed the 3rd best RB in the State who had similar stats and he isnt on Rivals either. Ronald Douglas, 5'11", 190 lbs, 2671 yards, 24 TD's, and 7.8 yards per carry.

DKHardee wrote:What FCS School landed the highest ranked recruit? Was it Liberty who scored the 4/5 star LB?
For whatever it's worth, we signed the Rivals 55th rated LB/5.6 3-Star, in Aaron Harris, Westfield HS, Spring, Texas...had early offers to Cal and UTEP, and Kansas wanted to offer but he didn't have his test score...we stayed with him all the way through and he got a qualifying test score back a couple of weeks ago...Cal came back in on him this past week, but he hung with us.

We also signed a RB from Round Rock, Texas (Jordan Wells) who was a 5.6 3-Star and rated as the 72nd RB all the way through until his commitment became public a couple of weeks ago...of course they dropped him to a 2-Star right after!
