$900,000. At $1450/month SSI (assuming it's even THERE when we retire), you'll have to live about 51 years past retirement age to break even.

You are probably young enugh to recover, ASUMountaineer. But I would do the same thing if we could re-set unearned entitlements back to zero.
I am, I'm only 28. But, I have supported ending SS for a while for those at a certain age...no longer pay in, will receive no benefits. Sounds like a great trade-off to me.
