Planning on attending road games?
Re: Planning on attending road games?
So far looking at Washinton St. and Idaho St. Thinking about Sac St. but I'll be headed for CA the following weekend for NASCAR so probably won't do two weeks in a row unless I decide to hit Sac and spend a week at my sons place in the Bay area and then head south (actually that isn't a bad plan). NAU is just too damn far out of the way and I try to avoid Fizzoula like the plague and Cat/griz is there this year.

Re: Planning on attending road games?
Will it still be the biggest first game ever on red turf if EWU gets embarrassed? I am not saying it will happen, it usually doesn't when the Griz play EWU but just asking. Not trying to hijack this thread or turn it into a smack fest.Screamin_Eagle174 wrote:Probably!? C'mon now, you know you'll be there. That will probably be the only Griz game I get to catch in person this year.

I'll be at SF Austin and Yale too, as well as Maine. For some reason I'm surprised that flying to Houston is quicker than driving to Orono.
Since Albany has only four home games, I suppose travel to Bryant and Sacred Heart are possible too.

@ Richmond ...... To see the new stadium and it's UR Parents Weekend so a mini family reunion with the UR student niece, UR Alum nephew and their parents too.
@ JMU ....... After 4 straight football weekend something around the house will need to be done.
@ W&M ..... Depends on how the season is going. Anything below a 5-2 record kills the value of a trip.
@ UMass .... Only if we are 8-1 or better.
@ Frisco .... Likely, but I'll need to renew my passport before then. Texas exercised their right of secession, didn't they? Hopefully? Please.

Re: Planning on attending road games?
Of course it will because two top-16 teams will be playing, likely playoff implications (we'll see), and the obvious... first game ever on red turf. Neither team will be getting embarrassed (I hope to be wrong, and lay a 3-4 TD beatdown on the Jizz), but in all likelihood, it will be a close, hard-fought battle. Looking forward to it.grizzaholic wrote:Will it still be the biggest first game ever on red turf if EWU gets embarrassed? I would like to make it to the Stony Brook and Liberty game because I want to see the new first phase of the stadium completed in person and see if liberty can get the autobid to the playoffs this year but unfortunately I will not be able to make it. I WILL make the trek two hours north to San Luis Obispo see the Cal Poly and Griz game. That will be an interesting match up. Maybe we can see CP take the upset against Montana. I just hope that the have improved enough to have a winning season this year.

Don't like to fly. I'll make the drive to UMass and UNH, but not Maine. Posters here have noted UMass has a great marching band; looking forward to seeing them perform. Also happy for another trip to Chapel Hill for our game there, and, of course, at JMU. Real problem is the ODU away game. Right down the street, but W&M is only getting 700 tickets, and I don't know how I'll fare in getting one.
Re: Planning on attending road games?
You already know what you are getting from UNC? UNI has no idea what we are getting from Iowa State, and likely won't until mid-later Augustgreen&gold75 wrote:Don't like to fly. Don't know what our allotment will be, but got no worrisome feedback from our ticket office when I requested my ticket. Come to think of it, I've never had a problem getting a ticket for any of our games at ACC teams, even at Va Tech.clenz wrote:You already know what you are getting from UNC? If I'm still in the Twin Cities in September (instead of going to school somewhere else), I might go to the NDSU game at Kansas, and maybe even the UNI game too. Or one of those only.

I'll go to the Texas St game at SHSU. Not really difficult to get to. Only about an hour and half from here.

I'm really tempted by that Akron game if my work schedule would allow it. I have a good friend in Cleveland and I've never been to the Rock N Roll HOF, and visiting the Pro Football HOF again would be awesome as well, on top of seeing the Dawgs play.

I want to make it to Statesboro and Gainesville. Not sure if either will happen, though.

your ticket office must be better than our ticket office.green&gold75 wrote:Don't know what our allotment will be, but got no worrisome feedback from our ticket office when I requested my ticket. Though if you ask some UNI fans, that's not really saying much.
Re: Planning on attending road games?
Depends on how superstitious I am (the road games I attended last year didn't turn out so well, other than at NDSU, but they weren't really a threat anyway. haha), and my work schedule.
Might make the UNI @ Iowa State game (only a 90 minute drive for me, not a two hour one )
Could possible make the trip to Vermillion for UNI @ USD.
And possibly the trip to Western Illinois, depending on how the season is going.

Re: Planning on attending road games?
First off, if our ticket office was as bad as our fans make it seem we wouldn't have anyone at games.JayJ79 wrote:Depends on how superstitious I am (the road games I attended last year didn't turn out so well, other than at NDSU, but they weren't really a threat anyway. haha), and my work schedule.

98% of the shit that gets blamed on the ticket office is not the fault or even the responsibility of the ticket office.
As for why it takes thebetterhalf and I 2 hours to get to Ames is we have to stop in Gladbrook to drop the dog off so she isn't locked in her kennel from 7AM until 11PM. It isn't as fast when you don't get to take 4 lane highway 20 and interstate 35, and you are stuck taking standard highways. The difference in speed I travel on those is about 15-20 MPH different.

NDSU game for sure and maybe Nebraska. Perhaps UNI
Please don't tell Obama what comes after a Trillion.

The UNI ticket office is responsible for the oil spill off the gulf coast.clenz wrote:98% of the shit that gets blamed on the ticket office is not the fault or even the responsibility of the ticket office.

Many Blue Hen road games are just as close as home games for me. @ Towson, @ Richmond, @ JMU, @ W&M, @ Navy, @ Maryland... I'm pretty spoiled.
I do hope to get to the Richmond game this year to see their new stadium.
