It always amazing that we see things black and white like Reagon had the most corrupt administration ever and Carter didn't absolutely nothing right. Both statements are ridiculous bullshit. Whether it was Reagons management style or early oldtimers disease, Iran Contra was a terrible mark on his tenure. But to even equate that to Nixon or Grant, etc etc is simply dumb. Carter certainly had some good ideas but his leadership skills were basically absent. His grasp on foreign policy was way to idealistic and lacked eality (similar to a very recent president of a different political party although generally in the same direction). Carter's biggest problem though is very similar to our current president. Bad economic times and absolutely no idea of what drives economic growth. Carter failed for that reason more than any other. Hoping the current president takes some economic courses at night school.
