As I see it, there are 10 slots in the BCS. 6 AQ conferences. 4 of those AQ conferences will have another team competing for those other 4 slots, but if Boise/TCU/Utah is ranked higher they will more than likely bypass those teams trying to get it. The key for them getting into the NC will be that all the conference champs have 2 losses overall, but they only need that for 3 conferences. Go Iowa, Baylor, and South Carolina

Re: TCU Passes Boise State In BCS Rankings
The best thing that can happen for Utah/Boise/TCU to get in the title fame is that South Carolina wins the SEC. The BCS championship game will not admit a team that hasn't won its conference (though it has in the past I don't think they can anymore or at least the voters won't allow it) and a 2 loss South Carolina team won't leapfrog them. The Big 10(11) needs to eat its young with preferably Ohio State going down at least one more time (maybe with Iowa as the champ?). Baylor beating Nebraska in the Big 12 championship would be best from them as well. Oregon slipping up once might help too.

If the BCS bowls were played today Boise St would not be in any of them! But the Big East and ACC champ would.

The big east is just terrible.
And the probable ACC champ was beaten by a mid pack CAA team.

Re: TCU Passes Boise State In BCS Rankings
There is a great article in Sports Illustrated this week about the BCS system and how f'd up it is. Some people estimate that a playoff would bring in 3x the money that the bowls bring in, but the BCS parasites wouldn't make money if there was a playoff, so instead of deciding the NC on the field they leave it up to uninformed voters and flawed computer programs.DJH wrote:The big east is just terrible.

Nobody called Va Tech a lock. There is big a difference between probable and lock.tampajag wrote:Edit: not saying that's much better, just saying VaTech isn't a lock and there is talent in the ACC whether people want to admit it or not
The talent in the ACC shows up on the hardwood during the winter.
