NDSU blocks SIU's punt from the 50 and takes it back for a TD. Cool.

The BISON defense is playing well. Sack the SIU QB recover the fumble then throw a beautiful screen for a long TD. 20-6 NDSU.

Sparse crowd, 11 minutes left. The BISON look great. Playing well. Mohler is still having sack problems and has fumbled a couple times himself, three maybe, but NDSU retained possession every time.

What a play, they just ran it again. Landen Smith took the perfect pass at full speed and to the house!!! Thats hard to do against a defense as good as the Salukis have.

The BISON are just starting to put the lumber to these guys.

We are now starting to see how good this BISON team is going to be.

I dont think so. The Salukis are playing to good for that. They would be beating any other team in the country except The BISON.

Wait that was serious wasn't it.

I thought you were a UNI fan at first making a joke.

There's nothing good about what the Bison have done today. SIU isn't good.

0-1 in Fargo. As physical and athletic as the Salukis are NDSU is just plain old outplaying them right now.

What a contest. SIU is a very good loop team.

4-8 this could be it for the Salukis. TO SIU.

There is no question NDSU has its best football in front of them. 2-11 on 3rd down conversions.

The pass rush on the 4th down play was huge, forced a fumble and now BISON ball.

He just plain dropped the ball squeezing through linemen because the RT couldn't pick up his man. Not so much a forced fumble.

Bison didn't play well, SIU played abysmal.

SIU looks like a OVC team in the playoffs. NDSU is owning every aspect of this game (in the second half that I have seen).

It doesnt look like the locals are too impressed with their Salukis? It probably frustration. SIU has a good football team. Regardless, they had a chance to play any way they wanted and they had that chance in every game this year. SIU has had a 7 year playoff run and been a dominant force in the MVFC. We are proud of the win. Its a big win for BISON Lore.

Now NDSU has put SIU behind them. Its another step in MVFC domination.

Yep, without checking the record we are 3-3

The BISON defense gave up 342 yds and 6 pts. The betting edge paid off.

DJ McNorton finished the day with 101 yds. Half the 251 The Herd assembled.

The difference was the defense. A blocked punt for 6 and holding them to 2 field goals is good defense. SIU is a 30 pt 400 yd/game offense.

Mohler finished with a respectable 9-16 no picks and a very nice TD pass and a couple dropped balls that would have padded this score nicely. It was a very respectable night for BISON Football. Another big step forward.

The Bison defense played a great game. That unit is really starting to come together, offense is still very bland but our defense will keep us in any game.

For a change the defense did their job, holding the nationally ranked Bison, victors over Big-12 powerhouse Kansas State, to a meager 254 total yards and one TD while fielding a defense cobbled together with freshmen and walk-ons. The Saluki receivers dropped more than enough passes to win the game, but that's the way it goes sometimes. We knew there would be a speed bump because of DL being hired late and missing most of a recruiting season,no problem there, but it is worrisome that we have gotten steadily slower as DL's recruits begin to take the field. When NDSU can keep you from having any big plays, you are too slow.

As well as the decimated Saluki defense looked in stuffing the powerful Bison offense, the Saluki offense looked horrible even while controlling the clock and racking up 100 more yards and and running 75 plays to the mighty Bison's 55. But that's football and you go to war with the army you have. The Salukis will be back strong next year. Congratulations to the Bison on a huge win for their beleagured program.
You matter. Unless you multiply yourself by c squared. Then you energy.

If there are any shortcomings in Carbonville they certainly aren't the fault of The BISON. At NDSU we are taught sportsmanship and we work on the fundamentals. We dont get discouraged when there is a step back. Foot ball is a team sport, vigor along line, speed and accuracy in the pass, confidence in the running, strength and sureness in the tackling and encouragement and teaching from the coaches. Thats the way to do it.

I know the NDSU Football Conglomerate feels we earned a good victory over a good team, a respected opponent. Next week of course is another week of hard work over at the NDSU College of Foot Ball. The BISON Coachs plan to have the team focus on the basics, keep themselves well rested and in top physical shape, study the play book: how a series of plays are deployed to set the opposing team up and what their individual roll in every play might be.

One of the reasons NDSU is the biggest draw in the league is the desire to always bring their best game. Coming up short after a week of hard practice not only shows an ineffectiveness in the coaches ability to prepare the team, it also shows a failure on the part of the players to get the most from their lessons and drills highlighted in practice. Not bringing your best game also shows disrespect for your opponent. They wanted a good game.

I think SIU brought a good game yesterday. I also think you are watching a very strong, talented and well coached team emerge at NDSU. This is just the beginning. The BISON are starting to roll.

Justin Howard had a good day but dropped a sure TD. He had 5 catches for 47.

Landon Smith had the 32 yd TD catching the pass in full stride, wide open.

DJ McNorton seems to be directed inside more than necessary. Give him some room. He does like to cut inside though. He doesn't bounce them out much. He is always looking for the seam to open against the flow.

We only returned 1 punt but Mike Sigers got 28 yds with speed, shifty running and good blocking.

Jose Mohler is still solid. He has a tendency to take sacks and drop balls. We dodged the bullet yesterday a couple times and were able to capitalize on all fumbles by SIU.

Defense is playing well. The offense is giving us what we need. The best football lies ahead. The biggest game of the regular season is upon us.

Thank you LB59! :thumb:

Obviously you are aware of the Big NDSU BISON win earlier this season over The BIG 12 Powerhouse Kansas Jayhawks and the resulting Jayhawk collapse.

NDSU is one of 3 FCS teams to EVER beat a Big 12 squad. It was an impressive victory and is certainly going to serve the BISON well. You see that victory over the BIG 12 gives The NDSU BISON the tie breaker over any other teams with the same record. Its the edge the BISON might need in a tight playoff field of very good football teams.

Unfortunately SIU may not be in this year. It starting to look like the NDSU BISON are going to take the traditional Saluki spot.

The BISON are emerging a little early. Not much was expected for this seasons team. Many thought this was the bubbling under season. I saw things a little differently. I felt last season was the bubbling under year and talked about in my weekly summaries, many of which Im sure you must have read LBS9. You seem like an informed fan.

Last year was bubbling under, this year The BISON are emerging and next year The Dynasty will roll.
