I think it's far more likely that she joins him on the ticket in 2012.
You could be right, skelly. Hillary recently told New Zealand's TV 3 that she would not run in either 2012 OR 2016.

She would be 69 years old in 2016 so it's not out of the realm that she may actually not want to run for President then. Although she's clearly a very driven and ambitious person, to her credit, that doesn't mean that she'll actually want to take on what could be a 4 or 8 year job at that point in her life. Some people actually want to do other things as they enter the twilight of their lives and taking on what's probably one of the more stressful jobs in the world and doing it until you're in your late 70's may actually not appeal to everyone.

I just don't see her making a run at all if she does not do it in 2016.

Any ideas about Obama facing a primary challenge in 2012 is just silly talk. Plus, his numbers could well improve drastically between now and then , and any one of 100 factors could cause that.

In a hilarious column in which Maureen Dowd speculates that we "may have to call Switzerland to get enough cheese" to accompany all of Obama's Presidential whines, Dowd poo-poos the idea that Hillary would be foolish enough to join Obama on the 2012 Presidential ticket.

Dowd writes that "...I once had a Jesuit English teacher who asked for an example of irony. A classmate raised his hand and wondered if Othello mistakenly killing Desdemona qualified. The old priest shook his head, noting, 'That is not irony, bud, that is tragic irony.' So it is with the idea being floated that Hillary might join Obama on a dream ticket as V.P. to save his presidency. Hillary, the only member of the cabinet with any political savvy, saving the guy that jumped line on her. I don’t think so. ..."
