That's about 3500 more seats that Mac Court had I think. I have tickets there for the Coug/Duck game in February and I'm pretty excited to see the new arena, the virtual tour looks absolutely amazing. The floor does suck, but as long as it doesn't take away from watching the game (which I doubt it will), I don't really care what Oregon does.ASUMountaineer wrote:12,500? Hmm, I would have expected a bigger arena. Other than that, they can do what they want, but IMO it's Fugly!

The "Keep Portland Weird" bumper stickers I see up there must apply to the rest of the state. Honestly, I don't see anything major tacky. Maybe a little less of the fade @ mid-court? I'll add the qualifier that I think the red turf in Cheney and blue turf in Boise adds a unique element to their games.
Just color me jealous that the Green Zero's have a new basketball arena.
Maybe I should start writing letters to Uncle Phil @ Nike and see if he's in the giving mood to help South Eugene (Flagstaff...NAU) with their much needed new hoops venue? Both are distance running meccas with a mix of college kids, hippies and have an outdoorsy-focused population. That minor fact that NAU has a contract with Adidas can be overlooked, I'm sure. NAU's basketball team can become Nike-sponsored in order for Nike to get their hands into the immense marketing gold mine that is NAU athletics...

Re: Oregon's new basketball court
In other news, Eastern Washington has announced plans to copy others yet again and will Oregonize their basketball court in time for the 2011 season tip off.
This will continue the Eagles tradition of being unoriginal. The most recent unoriginal ideas by EWU is the Red field which they got from Boise States blue field and this coming Sunday they will continue a long tradition of non Montana Griz BSC teams by not making the semi-finals of the FCS Playoffs.
