Sorry. I was inferring that you left "safety" off your list of reasons to choose the U.S. not the other way around.
Gotcha. :thumb:

Yep. It just won't be an enjoyable place to be. I'm not even considering going. Still looking into Brazil in 2014, but Russia in 2018 is doubtful now cuz I was really hoping for Spain/Portugal or England.

My brother spent time in Qatar during both Iraq wars and didn't really think much of it other than it was hot.

The two countries with the highest 'risk' (financial, spectator/tourism safety, etc.) according to a study adopted by FIFA?

Russia and Qatar.

No need to explain that one, FIFA.

Great tweets:
"I'm sure this was all done on the up-and-up and that Qatar really did have the best bid package." --Auburn fan.
Spain/Portugal wants to know if it can have its bribes back.
Qatar needs to thank its special consultant for the 2022 WC bid: Cam Newton's father.
Any time you can hold a World Cup in a hot Middle East country that's smaller than Connecticut + has no soccer tradition, you have to do it.
Bid cities for Qatar: Doha, N. Doha, S. Doha, E. Doha, W. Doha, Central Doha, S Central Doha, NNW Doha, The Surface of the Sun

How could Korea and/or Japan get serious consideration after just hosting in 2002?
