I wouldn't want to run a route through THAT secondary! :o
damn, I just checked out your guys roster from 2010 and you not only have a bunch of FBS transfers but BCS transfers. Your coaches know how to recruit.

Yeah, some people who only see the names of guys who've been in some kind of trouble tends to paint the whole team that way. In reality the vast majority of the transfers have been either college grads with a year of eligibility left, players in good academic standing looking for more playing time or players who fell prey to the BCS over-signing buzz saw. With the others, Bowden gives them a "one strike you're out" ultimatum. It worked for Preston Parker, TJ Porter and Brandon Fanney. It didn't work last season for Jarmon Fortson and William Brimfield so they were gone.

I lived in NH for four years. You're not fooling anyone with this type of statement. No one outside of NE has ever heard of Maine sports other than hockey.

My 'no-name' alma mater will 'school' you quickly to catch you up on us. :kisswink:

Recruiting is much different ball game when you have Division I academic standards to comply with. Drastic difference once the DI sliding scale comes into play.

Especially for schools with large numbers of FBS transfers. A lot of times those kids transfer to a DII school for academic reasons, not athletic ones.

Good luck to UNA. You'll b a great addition to FCS.

Exactly. I was sort of surprised by how many FBS drop-downs actually transfer to D-II schools as opposed to FCS. Central Washington had a ton of them when they played us last year, and I wasn't really aware of the fact that many go that route because of the academics side.

You still have to make satisfactory academic progress in D2. We've lost several great players (not transfers) for this reason over the years. However, many of our DI transfers have already graduated.

Actually, all you have to do is pass. That's a WHOLE different ballgame than APR.

Better known as the coach at Auburn in the early/mid '90's... including an undefeated season.

But, yeah, he was an ABC analyst for awhile as well.

Thought so. Wow, he really did let himself go. It's probably from getting back to coaching....

All this picture proves is that Terry Bowden has always had a FUPA.

Sour grapes because Georgia State's starter as a sophomore transferred to North Alabama? Or do you mean the Florida State transfer?

Lee Chapple transferred in form Ga Southern. He had a good season for the most part but was hampered by injuries to the offensive line. On the FIRST DAY and first hour of pre-season practice, Will Furlong (left tackle) and Brandon Davis (right tackle) were injured and out for the season. This season's pre-season All America Daron Rose didn't play until the 5th game as well as Willliam Brimfield. Needless to say the Lions struggled with pass protection.

They definitely have the football facilities, their stadium holds 14,215, not to mention they are a good program at the D2 level, would like to see them in the Big South as well and expand that conference a little more :thumb:

I didn't watch a single play of UNA football, but I would suspect he was more hampered by holding onto the ball way too long, than he was by his O-line. Just a hunch.

I'd expect them to increase that capacity to possibly 20,000.

Also welcome UNA posters! :thumb:

No it was the O-line. We had a game against Valdosta State before a couple of the guys got back that told the story. We rushed for 23 yards, passed for 64 and lost 5-0. Of course we only had 4 days to prepare and they had 11 and hit us with all kind of new blitz packages. After we got 2 starters back we beat them 43-20 in the playoffs.
