Nah, Boeheim is only done if he knew of or should've known of what Fine was doing and still kept him on in spite of it. I don't think anything has come out yet saying that Boeheim knew any of this and the police have been involved in this off and on for several years now. There's no Paterno/Penn St thing where they knew about it, actually saw it, and hid it from authorities. What did Boeheim do wrong that would necessitate firing him?

What did Boeheim do wrong? What did Switzer do wrong at OU? What did Jimmy Johnson do wrong at Miami? As the Head Coach you're also the de facto CEO of that sport - and you're responsible for everything that goes on with that program.

To differeniate this from Penn State though - Penn State sat on it & covered up the crimes & let them continue for about a decade, at SU the allegation were brought to police & investigated.

The accusers say they were molested by Fine. Boeheim publicly trashed the accusers, calling them liars, etc. He publicly stated that Fine was innocent. If the accusations turn out to be true, Boeheim is in deep do do for publicly trashing victims of molestation & publicly defending a child molester.

Boheim stood up for his friend when the allegations 1st surfaced, I think any of us would do that. Since things have started to look worse for Fine, Jim B. has distanced himself & apologized for his previous comments. As long as nothing surfaces showing he was involved in or knew about the molestation he should be fine.

Agreed. And while the accusers may be right on Fine, parts of their stories may end up being fabrications as well, so they may be truthful in some respects and liars in other respects. Time will tell. But Boeheim is perfectly safe in his job assuming he didn't know or couldn't have known about this abuse or even the allegation of abuse. Just because a creepy guy works for you doesn't mean you're held accountable for everything that person does.

Let's put it this way...nobody is saying Bernie Fine is not guilty but the investigators in Syracuse look a lot better right now versus their counterparts in State College. These guys in New York - they may have been abused but they don't come off as the most credible or sympathetic people in the world..

Roger Springfield does not work for the university any more, Kevin Quinn, senior vice president for public affairs at the university, said Wednesday night. Quinn did not provide additional information.

The Post-Standard of Syracuse reported hours earlier that Springfield is under investigation by Syracuse police and the district attorney's office. No one answered at the door of Springfield's residence Wednesday night.
