My favorite play was when he corkscrewed around and back down the lane for a driving layup. Those passes were sheer poetry. Alley-oops are one thing, but a left-handed bounce pass to a driving teammate is quite another.JoltinJoe wrote:7 Knicks in double figures last night -- and Lin had 13 assists to go with his 10 points. I love when defenders guard the pass and Lin then takes it right by them. I love when defenders guard Lin, and he dishes. He's creating things we haven't seen in New York for years and making everyone on the court better.
You might say he makes music just as sweet as Yo-Yo Ma.![]()
Last night, it was clear that Sacramento was trying to deny him chances to score, so he just dished off.
Now that he's officially an NBA star, when does he get his first tattoo?

MSG Network is facing some serious heat after the New York Knicks TV broadcast partner flashed a tone-deaf graphic of the franchise's Asian-American star.
Following the Knicks' seventh straight win on Wednesday night, MSG showed viewers an image featuring guard Jeremy Lin's head in between ends of a broken fortune cookie with the sentence "The Knicks' Good Fortune" on a piece of paper.

That was a great player. The moment he went under and around the basket, you could see the D back off to defend the pass. And then he just circled around again and laid it in with a soft underhand motion.Ivytalk wrote:My favorite play was when he corkscrewed around and back down the lane for a driving layup. BTW, you sure you're not a Knicks fan? You seem to be watching a lot of the Knickerbockers lately?
Here's an easy question for a Harvard guy who roots for the NYK: why are they called the Knickerbockers?

I'm going to guess that the name is derived from those pants the early Dutch settlers of NYC used to wear.JoltinJoe wrote:That was a great player. Here's an easy question for a Harvard guy who roots for the NYK: why are they called the Knickerbockers?
The term "Knickerbockers" traces its origin back to the Dutch settlers who came to the New World -- and especially to what is now New York -- in the 1600s. Specifically, it refers to the style of pants the settlers wore ... pants that rolled up just below the knee, which became known as "Knickerbockers," or "knickers".
Through history, the Dutch settler "Knickerbocker" character became synonymous with New York City. The city's most popular symbol of the late 19th and early 20th centuries was "Father Knickerbocker," complete with cotton wig, three-cornered hat, buckled shoes, and, of course, knickered pants.
The Knickerbocker name had its first use in the world of sports in 1845, when Alexander Cartwright's Manhattan-based baseball team -- the first organized team in baseball history -- was named the "New York Knickerbockers" or the "Knickerbocker Nine." The Knickerbocker name stayed with the team even after it moved its base of operations to Elysian Fields at Hoboken, N.J. in 1846. (The baseball link may have prompted Casey Stengel to joyously exclaim, "It's great to be back as the manager of the Knickerbockers!" when he was named pilot of the newborn Mets in 1961.)

Spike's actually fun to watch at a game. He's certainly a fan!
The 70's Knicks were my team - loved DeBusschere, Monroe, Frazier, Bradley etc.

Well, the win streak ended last night.Lin had nine turnovers. The rap on him in college was that he didn't play well against the press.

Another day at the Office for Lin: 28 points, 14 assists, another win. Turnovers down to 6 today.

Pretty sure no one from Montana has a MBA...unless it was given as an honorary title or something. Ask JBB, he knows about these types of things.Ivytalk wrote:Fair question. Does Montana have an alum with an MBA?grizzaholic wrote:

JBB doesn't live there, Lakes is not allowed there, and TTBF is a political whore and resides in Washington D.C.Ivytalk wrote:Does anyone from the state of North Dakota have a degree of any kind? JBB? Lakes? TTBF?grizzaholic wrote:
