Nope. All ya'll GWFC teams missed that window of opportunity-2010. The window has slammed shut and the road to a BSC title now runs directly through Missoula again.Darell1976 wrote:Exactly...sorry not to be clear, but it was along the lines what SloStang was saying not scheduling 2 FBS teams and a bunch of non DI teams just to fill up your schedule. A walk in the park as in scheduling 3 OOC games instead of 7. Now winning the BSC...that will definately NOT be a walk in the park.Brock Landers wrote:I'm sure he meant not having to deal with a GWFC schedule

My only prediction is another Griz loss in Ogden.

Re: 2012 Big Sky Predictions
Cal Poly has a shot at the Big Sky Championship in 2012 and does not have to step one foot into the state of Montana and does not play either team from Montana in 2012. The door is wide open for Cal Poly in 2012. Now we will go through it or get it slammed in our face? Can not wait to find out.AZGrizFan wrote:Nope. 2012 Big Sky Predictions
I would like nothing more than to see Cal Poly win the BSC in their inaugural season. Probably won't happen but it could. Can't say how happy I am to see them in the Big Sky. Here is to 2012 season... Cheers

With that conference slate it's more than possible...of course I have no idea who CP lost and what returns. Either way CP is always tough. Looking forward to a region draw our fans will actually have interest in seeing.CPAlum wrote:I would like nothing more than to see Cal Poly win the BSC in their inaugural season. Re: 2012 Big Sky Predictions
Given the battles CP has given Sac and Montana over the years, I think it's a given that CP will do MUCH more in football alone in the Sky than Northridge did for ALL sports COMBINED.
At the very least, I think CP comes in second-tier. They might possibly be first-tier. The other two newbies? Not a chance first year. UND probably has a better shot long-term than SUU, but who knows? Of the three, CP has the best shot of an immediate title. UND will probably be there within three to four years. SUU just might turn out to be the next UNC....

There's 4 newbies SH. You're forgetting Davis I think. And yeah, Northridge sucked ass.SuperHornet wrote:Of the three, CP has the best shot of an immediate title. UND will probably be there within three to four years. SUU just might turn out to be the next UNC....

UC Davis has been somewhat inconsistent but they did beat Sac State the last two years and Cal Poly the last three years.

Re: 2012 Big Sky Predictions
Sorry I forgot about the Extension. They're still adjusting, but they'll probably be around UND (better than SUU) to start. In a few years, they'll probably start getting up near the top.
Of course, the Hornets are going to have to shut the door on them.

So out of morbid curiosity I just checked, and it looks like Davis owns your asses. 10 of the last 12?

And 16 of the last 20... wow. Never realized that. Shit, wasn't UCD D-II not too long ago? I remember they were in transition in 2005 when we first played them in the fog bowl.Brock Landers wrote:So out of morbid curiosity I just checked, and it looks like Davis owns your asses. 10 of the last 12?

Holy damn, they had a streak of 18 straight wins over Sac between 1970 and 1987. That's got to be a record or something.

I sure hope SUU will be in the top 3 this year!

2013 UND has 7 home games so that might be our year..including a non-conference home game against Montana.SuperHornet wrote:Given the battles CP has given Sac and Montana over the years, I think it's a given that CP will do MUCH more in football alone in the Sky than Northridge did for ALL sports COMBINED.

Re: 2012 Big Sky Predictions
I'm tired of being optimistic with UNC, so I'll just pick us last. That way there's no disappointment.
I'll pick MSU, UM and EWU to finish in the top three.

Re: 2012 Big Sky Predictions
It's way too early for any serious predictions in the Big Sky (or anywhere for that matter). Even when we had only 9 teams, February was still way too early. Give me at least through spring ball.

This. A lot usually happens between winter conditioning and the first game of the season. I'll comment on where I think we'll be after spring ball and I have an idea on who our Qb's going to be.JALMOND wrote:It's way too early for any serious predictions in the Big Sky (or anywhere for that matter).
