If they EVER were, there's no indication of it now. Their first president was male, way back in the 1890s, and their football team won the NAIA national championship in 1960.

I have seen Mankato State play once this year....they are good. I don't know much about the other teams but Mankato in December will be a tough environment for any team coming in.

One advantage for WSSU should they make it to the championship game. They don't have to play up there.

Ya, it's been there for many years now. I believe they bid for the right to host the game.

I know Valdosta is an historic power. They don't seem to have done much lately, and Mankato WAS undefeated. Of course, that doesn't count for much in the playoffs....
