What problems are those? We can't fill up the stadium we already have. The former AD made sure to eliminate any capacity issues we might have had five years ago by driving off over a third of the season ticket base. He was rewarded with a promotion to AD at Stanford.
well...yeah. No need to kick you while you are down. You should punch your AD/President in the nuts for being a douche of Jersey Shore proportions.

Joe's QB rating just went down ten points with that trade. :|

I still can't believe we got him that cheap. :notworthy:

With Boldin now gone, we won't even get to Week 3 before everyone realizes Flacco's now the most overpaid QB in the league. 8-)

Yeah, all he does is win, with or without Boldin. Losing Boldin would hurt any QB.

So why didn't he take a page out of Brady's book and take a smaller paycheck in order to keep a good team around him? :coffee:

Yeah, the Ravens letting Boldin go for just a 6th round pick seems idiotic...

:coffee: Indeed.
As part of the restructure, Brady had his 2012 base salary reduced from $5.75 million to $950,000. The team then took the remaining $4.8 million, combined it with a $6 million roster bonus due to him, and gave him a $10.8 million signing bonus.

Brady doesn't have his salary reduced, he just receives the money in a different form

The joke is that it's to accommodate Flacco's unnecessarily large contract.

Eagles and Blue Hens. Flacco is a Blue Hen and so I root for him to do well. If he played for any of the other 31 teams, I'd never watch a Ravens game.

I get the jokes, but I don't think they'll pan out as funny over time, any more than the Sad Flacco meme or the Dear Joe/From Football Gods SI cover panned out, in light of his throwing 11 TDs and 0 INTs in the playoffs, winning the Superbowl, and taking home the Superbowl MVP trophy. All the guy does, since he was thrown into the starting role as a rookie, is win in the regular season, on the road, in the playoffs every single season he's played, you name it. The dude is pure money, is now considered "elite" (which I find comical - he was always elite to me since his Sr. season at UD), and it just drives the haters (like Skip Bayless) crazy. What a joy it is to sit back and watch all the haters fail to knock this guy down. Joe just put up the biggest middle finger in the world to you losers and it's awesome.

The Baltimore offense is bringing back most of the pieces. The defense will certainly need some gel time, but I think the Ravens will be just fine in 2013-14. Hell, the defense gave up 30+ points in two of their four playoff games. It's not like the old days where Baltimore relied on the defense. I wouldn't bet on back to back Lombardi's, but another playoff run isn't out of the question.

That defense still has Haloti Ngata & will have a 100% Terrell Suggs back as well.

I'd like to know which one of those players are worth that money they'll be making.

Boldin was going to be cut and cost the team $7.5M this year. Now they take a $1.5M hit and get a 6th pick. He made some hella great plays in the post-season, but regular season 65 catches for 900 yards and 4 TDs. They have Torry Smith and Jacoby Jones on the outside. Methinks it won't be hard finding a possession type to go over the middle. :|

The 3 that really hurt are Ellerbee, Kruger & Williams. Hard to fault them for the $$ that those guys got paid though. The Browns will be re-doing Kruger's deal in a few years.

In addition to those 65 for 921, 4 TDs during the regular season, he had 22 for 380 and 4 TDs during the post season.

Look at the records the guy holds (got from wiki)
NFL records
Most receptions in a rookie season: 101[14]
Most receiving yards in first career game: 217
Most receptions in the first 26 games of an NFL career: 157
Fastest to record 400 career receptions (in 67 games)
Fastest to record 500 career receptions (in 80 games)
Fastest to record 600 career receptions (in 98 games)

32, probably has 2-3 good years left. Me thinks the Ravens won't find a possession type to go over the middle that was a good as Boldin. They certainly got fleeced by only getting a 6th round pick.

The ravens will be lucky to get to 8-8 next year. You guys better hope Ozzie knows what he's doing in the draft. :coffee:
