Well, you made it sound like taking JMU was just sliiiiiiiiiiiiiightly above "riff raff"....Putting JMU and ODU into a new lower-tier FBS football conference would immediately make those two the highest attended games in the conference (outside of Navy).
Delaware as well. Don't forget that up until the last couple of years, UD had the longest running streak of 20,000+ average attendance in FCS. Hens fans are just waiting for something to be hopeful for. JMU fans had hope but their attendance sagged last year. ODU has a smaller stadium, so I'm not sure if they average 20k or not. I think they're close.
Every game has been a sellout since inception in 2009. They squeezed a few more seats in over the last two years and capacity is now just over 20,000. Current Master Planning is calling for a brand new stadium to be built at around 30k capacity (probably open around 2019 or so).

I assume it'll be built for modular expansion, no? If ODU could become Tidewater's defacto NFL team, I think you could pull in 35k+ no problem.

FAMU
That might have been it. I'm getting senile.

FAMU declared I-A then relented. FAMU is still recovering from that debacle. Set their entire athletic department back 20 years.
DSU said they were looking at I-A but when the laughter stopped they relented. Sessoms is an attention whore. SOP for his entire career when it comes to athletics. I supported advancing the athletic department to newer heights but once he declared his I-A intentions it was clear that it was all for show. His departure set us back a decade, especially considering the absolutely idiotic moves that we have made since then.
UMass said they were dropping football and then relented.

Maybe that's it.
Pretty much.

Liberty never changed their mind. They've announced their intent to move up, but no FBS conference has offered an invite, something required for FBS moves under current NCAA rules.

SuperHornet's Athletics Hall of Fame includes Jacksonville State kicker Ashley Martin, the first girl to score in a Division I football game. She kicked 3 PATs in a 2001 game for J-State.

I just drove through Lynchburg, VA yesterday on US-29 and saw the campus at 75 mph. Seemed odd to build a campus straddling a major highway, but that's apparently what they did.

I can tell that joint is a cash cow, because there were cranes and buildings going up everywhere. I didn't have time to stop, but if I did, I would have repainted the Jerry Falwell Highway sign to say Larry Flynt Highway. Maybe next time.

That tweet doesn't show half of the story...

We also have a home and home with New Mexico State coming up...and some other odd-ball agreements...

I think once Connecticut is safely back in FCS, UMass will quietly follow suit...

Or drop football all together...
