Basketball is not hockey. Soccer is not WWE... well, it's close. Who gives a shit? :dunce: :tothehand:
Figure skating is not a sport :coffee:

Tommy W's game is fucking fantastic for any age.

Work today and try and sneak out to a lake this evening.

Tomorrow is off, no plans.

Sunday - work in the am, catch the final round, play 9 in the evening.

Since you bring it up. To me a sport is defined as a physical competition where a clear winner can be determined by established rules. That means swimming is a sport, but diving is not. Bowling is a sport, but gymnastics is not. Darts, billiards, curling... sports, figure skating not.

Talk about bad breaks. Watching Amen Corner online and Furyk, already strugging, hits the pin on the fly on #12 and the ball careens off the green and almost into the water. :x

I think a distinction still has to be made between a sport and a game. If darts and billiards are a sport, then so are foosball, marbles and tiddly winks.

Back to the action. Spieth is -3 through 8 today and is at -11 overall. Has a 5 shot lead over Day and Hoffman who have each finished 4 holes.

Rose is still at -5 but hasn't started yet and Els is +1 for the day through 13 and the sole player at -4 to round out the top 5. Mickelson/McIlroy group starts at about 1:50 EDT. Woods is even for the day through 6 at +1 overall in a big tie for 35th place. +2 is currently 50th place (the cutline will be top 50 and ties)

So what's your distinction? Being stationary?

Spieth through 28 holes: -12

Masters Records

Lowest Winning Score: -18 Tiger Woods 1997
Highest Margin of Victory: 12 strokes Tiger Woods 1997

Looking easily breakable at the moment. Or is a monumental choke in order? :coffee:

Don't know that I see the margin of victory yet. Winning score will be in reach though.

It's within reach, but I see a fall more likely. FTR, I am a fan of Spieth.

That Woods character has made a couple of birdies to move up to 16th.

Interestingly enough, the old guy Mark O'Meara is tied with Spieth for best round of the day at -4 through 15 and is in a tie for 6th at -3 overall.

He and Ivy pooled together on a bet against Tiger making the cut.

Other old guy Ernie Els with the clubhouse lead at-5 halfway through his tourney. He currently sits alone in 3rd, 8 back of Spieth now that Spieth birdied the par 5 13th and 2 back of Hoffman who is playing the 10th at -7.

Tiger currently in a tie for 12 at -2 through 11 holes 5 back of 2nd place (not worth it to compare to Spieth at this point)

Spieth -14 - -6 (17 today)
Hoffman -10 - -5 (14 today with a par 5 15th to go)
Els -5 (done for the day)
Casey - 4 - -1 (4 today)

Just yankin' your chain. I'm amazed at how many instant Duke fans we've had pop up around here this week.

I like Els and Furyk and generally try to pull for the hometown boy Haas.

I know, I hate bandwagon fans. However, up here there are NO Duke fans whatsoever. I actually have never quite understood the hatred by the general public. I can see Terp fans or Tarheel fans hating them, but beyond that it's just strange to me. Notre Dame same thing. I don't love them, nor hate them.

Both have a little extra plus for me. Els because he won at Congressional and I've actually seen him twice at the club outside of tour events (he's an honorary member). Furyk's dad gave me my first set of clubs (bag with my name too) when I was an assistant pro. He was a sales rep for Tommy Armour. My head pro actually taught Jimmy in Lancaster before he went to college. Also, Fluff is a member of my club and I've played with him several times. All of the above guys are really good people.
