I've been to Wrigley, and while there is a small smattering of hardcore fans, most are there to hit the bars across the street and drink Michelob Ultra, show up in the second inning, take 200 selfies, leave after the seventh, then go get a gluten/GMO free meal somewhere.

Plus, why would you want to ruin a 108 year streak? Some stuff is cool to perpetuate. The Curse of the Bambino is now ash in the scrap heap of history. The Red Sox were quaint as lovable losers and now they're just another perennial colossal payroll like the Yankees.

If the Cubs win, they're stars for a week and then nobody ever gives a care about them anymore outside Chicago.
