My former consul general in Lagos, Jeffery Hawkins, went on to be the US Ambassador to the CAR and he just left post last month. That whole country is a sad but largely ignored cautionary tale.

I collected stamps as a boy, and CAR had beautiful stamps. Triangular with bright colors and French-English bilingual wording. Sucks to be a dysfunctional state.
