I thought that if anybody would f-up something like this, the pot capital of this country would not be it...

Roll-out has been much smoother in most other states...but, IMHO, California can f-up a wet dream...

Colorado (first, I believe) had some issues, as every first does...

California had the least to gain of any state legalizing marijuana
Because the well established marijuana farming community in Marin County had already won the production processing handling and logistics race

The Marin County police have been ignoring these giant pot farms for decades
and I mean pot FARMS as in acres and acres of Marijuana

it was so common album covers celebrated it

And Marin County ain't the half of it; all the way up the coast to the Matanuska Valley in Alaska (home of the legendary Matanuska Thunderfvck)....Mendocino, Humboldt, Del Norte, Oregon, Washington, Vancouver... right now the black market price in Mendocino for an oz. of the outdoor, organic, weed prized by the locals is $150. Here in Southern Illinois the black market price for an oz. of the nugs is currently $250, down $100 from recent history. 6 hrs. west of here in Springfield, MO, the price is very similar to CA according to a friend's college-aged son.

I don't need to, some of my young musician friends have a pretty good handle on that end of things. The Pharaonic strains seem to be highly prized - Khufu's Curse, thought by many to be mythical, is spoken of in hushed and reverent tones.

And let me tell you kids right here and now that the sooner you replace about 90% of your alcohol intake with reefer the better you will feel in the long run.

Street price is too high but other than that I'd be ok with the status quo here.
