As long as you can get between opening a door handle and disinfecting your hands without touching your face, you should be ok. I mean a terrifying amount of people can't do that, but I wouldn't say anyone touching common surfaces with their bare hands is stupid.
That said, the apparent transmissibility rate possibly suggests that we do secrete the virus into our sweat glands.. so definitely keep that purell handy
oh and the skin on the genitals IS permeable to many viruses so now I only touch my dick BEFORE I shake hands

Gas station has hand soap. Wash before getting back on car. Wash when I get home. I would wear gloves if I was being treated for cancer. Stay healthy 93.93henfan wrote: ↑Fri Mar 27, 2020 8:46 pm I stopped for fuel this evening, put on my nitrile gloves, got out of the car and observed while pumping diesel. I did not see a single other person with gloves on. I saw four people grab gas handles and touch touchscreens without gloves. I saw about ten people grab the door handle into the convenience store without gloves. I saw three people grab the door handle to the liquor store without gloves. This was in about a five minute window.
People are really fucking stupid.

Given your current health situation, I’d say you’re being prudent. I wouldn’t say the others are “stupid”. There’s a 0.5-5% chance they contract the virus from something like that. And if they DO contract it, there’s a 90% chance symptoms will be mild. Even if symptoms are severe there’s a 99.2% chance they’ll survive.93henfan wrote: ↑Fri Mar 27, 2020 8:46 pm I stopped for fuel this evening, put on my nitrile gloves, got out of the car and observed while pumping diesel. I’ll take those odds.

It seems like the restrictions here are about the same as elsewhere. Definitely an inconvenience, but nothing outrageous. I'm not very social, so being able to go to work, the grocery store/pharmacy/Dr.'s office and outdoors to run is all I need for the short term. I hope it doesn't turn into the long term though. It really seems like the efforts are trying to keep people from meeting in groups of 10 or more.
