Then we get the discussion of whether the 22nd amendment, in hand with the 12th amendment, would bar that from happening. I'm thinking it would bar a former two term President from being VP at a later time, but that's never been adjudicated.

Let’s see it. Show your work.
I’m appreciating the subsidized starlink system I’m using right now. It was nice to check NOAA for updates on the storm that just hit. Going to drive down one of those evil government freeways later today. Maybe go hike around beautiful Turnbull National Wildlife Refuge tomorrow.
Hope you plan for end of life care. Without Medicare it will cost you up to $12K/month.

Outside of fed lands and military bases, Fed govt doesn’t build roads.

Infrastructure and protecting the borders are what government is for. Everything else should be left up to the states.
So what if your "subsidized" Starlink. A private person did that and the government stole from him. Musk should be taxed at all for what he provides the world.
My dad always said, teaching, Real Estate and government are what you do when you cant do anything else. All 3 leech of somebody elses innovation, hard work and ability to take chances. I plow my own roads and in some cases repair them, have never taken handouts or welfare. If you do that you a re a loser that shouldn't get things like that. Welfare should be 6 months and once every 5 years or less to fill gaps between unemployment. It shouldn't be a standard of living for generations of people bilking the system.
There is less than 1% of people that are physically unable to take care of themselves. We should help them but if your a fat lazy video game loser. You should starve before you get help. If you are not willing to help yourself why should I be forced to do it with theft of my wages?

Bob switched the term to government which isn’t just federal. Besides, Interstates are federal. May have been contracted out but would not have happened without government. Hydro-electric power, rail, barging. I could go all day.

Musk came from wealth and used government subsidies and the stock market to get where he’s at. Is he genius? Sure…on some things. He’s just not as originally innovative as many think. Starlink would not exist without the federal government. Tesla likely as well.
I plow my own road and do some repair. Raising more and more of my own produce too. I get the allure of self reliance.
I disagree with your dad. At least on educators. I know many and was raised by two. Dad grew up on an Iowa farm and became a coach and full professor. My maternal grandparents were rum runners who fled to northern Saskatchewan and homesteaded. My 14 year old uncle killed a moose in January or else they may have not made it though a winter. The nearest town was a 10 mile horse and wagon ride. Oranges were a Christmas time delicacy. Mom retired and came about as close to sustainable living as one could expect. Zero waste, recycled everything, grew, foraged, and caught much of her own food.
I get it. But all of us are leeches, including likely you.

Looming Trump tariffs drive rush on imports, push shipping costs higher
Freight costs are rising as businesses rush to import goods ahead of higher tariffs promised by US President-elect Donald Trump on Chinese and European products.
...
Xeneta said that businesses are rushing imports to avoid higher tariffs, as US importers and exporters brace for rising ocean container shipping rates. The company notes that a repeat of 2018 is unlikely, with frontloading of imports expected to play a larger role this time.

We’ve been talking fed here.
Interstates are built by the states. Actually most of that is built by the states. You can say mostly or partly federally funded, but that‘s after how many cents on the dollar are wasted going to the fed then to the states instead of straight to the states.
