I plow my own roads and in some cases repair them, have never taken handouts or welfare. If you do that you a re a loser that shouldn't get things like that. Welfare should be 6 months and once every 5 years or less to fill gaps between unemployment. It shouldn't be a standard of living for generations of people bilking the system.

Musk came from wealth and used government subsidies and the stock market to get where he’s at. Is he genius? Sure…on some things. He’s just not as originally innovative as many think. Starlink would not exist without the federal government. Tesla likely as well.

My maternal grandparents were rum runners who fled to northern Saskatchewan and homesteaded. My 14 year old uncle killed a moose in January or else they may have not made it though a winter. The nearest town was a 10 mile horse and wagon ride. Oranges were a Christmas time delicacy. Mom retired and came about as close to sustainable living as one could expect. Zero waste, recycled everything, grew, foraged, and caught much of her own food.
