Talking about Villanova at all right now is a bigger waste of bandwidth.

Can we all agree that vutomcat is making our heads hurt and ignore him?

This was actually a really good thread about CAA power rankings until he went on his rants.

First of all, where is this "we" coming from? Are you royalty? You're the only nova fan here, which must be very comforting to you since that's probably how you feel whenever you go to watch them play, assuming you even go the the games.

Nova fan #3 checking in. Regardless, who cares how many fans there are? Villanova has their own forum, so we tend to ignore this Delaware forum. Instead of looking at that article (which no one bothered to read anyway) and saying, "Hey, maybe they will consider a six win team" you hen fans like to pretend you know everything. No one is saying 'Nova is a lock. Vutomcat and myself are very simply suggesting that MAYBE this selection committee WILL consider a six win team, which the article CLEARLY states is the case.

Thanks for the info 93. I'll take your word for that. I think the point being made was that this is a Delaware dominated forum or at least the CAA threads are. Any information you have about the rivalry would be greatly appreciated. What are your best memories of de victories over nova?

A lot of upsets today all around the country. Any hope for a 3rd or 4th CAA team?

Maine and Towson are in. Maine with a 2-4 seed and Towson with a 6-8 seed with wins next week I think.

The Tribe should be in with a win without a seed. Out with a loss.

Delaware with a shot with a win but may depend on other games. Out with a loss.

UNH still with a shot if they beat Maine. Don't want to hurt your noggin but Nova still with outside shot with convincing win vs. Delaware and some help. Maine may be vulnerable after conference championship celebration and UNH tough at home.

Delaware is potentially dangerous for Nova now that there's still something to play for. 8 wins might still get UD in the field.

I don't think many UD fans are going to make the trip to Chester next Saturday, which could have given the Hens a boost like in 2011. There were a lot of dejected people I talked to leaving the Tub yesterday. The vast majority believe the season is over. With the weak field this year I think 8 D1 wins is still attractive, particularly when UD means a 5 digit gate.

Getting back on topic here with some rankings. Another Saturday shakes everything up yet again.

Locks:
1. Maine
2. Towson

Contenders for the 3rd or possible 4th CAA team in the playoffs.
3. New Hampshire (An upset win against Maine would make them a lock. A loss leaves it open.)
4. William & Mary (Beat UR and probably in.)
5. Villanova (Week 12 results help tremendously. Beat UD at home and they give themselves a chance.)
6. James Madison (Stony Brook loss hurts. Upset Towson, and they have a small chance.)
7. Delaware (Probably out, but a win over VU would help.)

Out:
8. Richmond (Loss to URI really hurts their resume, but they are playing solid football.)
9. Stony Brook (Disappointing first CAA season)
10. Albany
11. Rhode Island

Not happy to hear that but it sounds similar to last year. The crowd at the stadium and the tailgating was not typical Delaware. I look forward to this game every year
as I am sure you can tell.

Would like nothing more than a packed house and memorable game.

Hope the mood of the hen fans change as the week wears on.

JFC son, you are an idiot if you think a 6-5 VU or a 7-5 JMU have a shot at the playoffs. They both have ZERO chance of getting in. ZERO. ZIP. NADA. NONE. :dunce:

There is ZERO chance any 5 loss team anywhere in the country is getting an At Large.

You're wrong. There is a chance. Read the sporting news article that indicates the committee will be considering 6 win teams. Why is this so hard to comprehend for posters here? The committe is starting toook at things like the ncaa tourney. Strength of schedule is more important than ever before. The way you all post makes you sound so ....ok. I promised not to get into the insults. But really, why would you continue to harp about this when it's clearly untrue?

Sorry if I offended you bdkjmu, you seem pretty upset. I'm just following the article mentioned earlier in the thread. You could be right, but I would rather trust a published article over some random idiot on a message board. These are all hypothetical situations for fun, and I'm not the only one on this board who believes Villanova might have a very slim chance. It's okay though. I would be upset after an embarrassing loss to a weak Stony Brook team too.

Here's another question for you--- Do you think the CAA will only get two teams in if nova beats Delaware, Richmond beats William an Mary and Towson beats JMU and Maine beats NHU?

Not much of a stretch for that to happen. Really only one upset (Richmond)

Yes the CAA will then get two teams. Villanova has no OOC resume, you lost to Fordham.

I agree the Fordham loss hurt VU's chances. But Boston College has had a very successful season after making their comeback to win against the Cats and continue to help the SOS. They look like they are on their way to an 8-4 season and a decent bowl game to me.

A loss is a loss is a loss is a loss. Too many FCS teams actually beat FBS teams this year to have "half-decent losses" mean a hill of beans. Stop trying to talk yourself into it, BKDJMU was right. No shot in hell, nada. Even at 6-5 & all your scenarios playing out, you'd still be the 5th CAA team. Maine is 1, Towson is 2, W&M with 7 wins is 3, UNH who beat you head to head & would also be 6-5 is 4. :coffee: :coffee: :coffee: :coffee:

Agree to disagree. A fairly close loss to BC (24-14) after leading much of the game is different than getting drubbed from the opening kickoff by Navy (51-7) in my opinion. But, this is what this forum is all about, opinions.

7-5 Northern Iowa - add another team that'd get in before Villanova.

Seven wins versus 6 & they BEAT FBS Iowa State. Not led for part of the first half, but beat.

Not happening - again the committee would have to take 5 from the CAA.

If the committee didn't take 7-4 Towson last year, they sure as hell ain't taking a 6-5 team this year!

Remember it is an expanded field this year. The committee made a huge error last year. I can't believe they took UNH over Towson after Towson took them apart on the last game of the year.
