GannonFan wrote:Which is true, there is a tremendous amount of parity in the NFL. That's why it's so easy for a team, in the span of 1-3 years, can turn things around and go from being a doormat to being a Super Bowl contender. That's just what makes the Cleveland Browns so perplexing - how can a team be that bad that consistently? It belies all statistics and other metrics.Chizzang wrote:I just read an NFL article saying the Titans don't have a chance...
"Titans don't stand a chance against the Chiefs"
This is the kind of thing you hear all the time in the NFL and it's just not true
Yes the Chiefs at home should be favored (true)
But:
We just watched Baltimore lose at home in a must win game
and it happens all the time (Carolina tanked, Jacksonville tanked)
https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/afc- ... he-chiefs/
I find it interesting how many people that professionally review the NFL
have no understanding how closely matched the bulk of all NFL teams are
as 89hen pointed out in another thread
There are a few elite teams
and then everybody else is pretty tightly matched
and even when those elite teams play bad teams they often don't win by much

I wonder if he tried to get fired, and the Bengals ownership decided to keep him to punish him…
That's really the only way this makes sense.

Well, the Browns are keeping Jackson on after he won a single game in two years. Who knows what those Ohio teams are thinking.Mvemjsunpx wrote:grizzaholic wrote:

In Jackson's defense, nobody could win much of anything with that roster.Vidav wrote:Well, the Browns are keeping Jackson on after he won a single game in two years. Who knows what those Ohio teams are thinking.Mvemjsunpx wrote:

Not that I rooted for those cunts this year. I wanted them to go 0-16. Guess two more years of no fanship for me.
Hey CID, got any good Cricket teams I should start watching?

Also, the last time the Browns beat a team with a winning record was in 2014. Against the Bengals.Mvemjsunpx wrote:In Jackson's defense, nobody could win much of anything with that roster.Vidav wrote:

Wow, just looked at the weekend slate. Has there ever been a less intriguing four games on wildcard weekend? The only one I may actually watch is the last one, Carolina at NO. The rest are garbage.

What’s that now? Six consecutive home playoff losses? Reid is toast.93henfan wrote:Andy Reid could **** up a wet dream.

Rams have the dropsies tonight.
Also, is it legal for a fan to continually blow a damn train horn every time the Falcons are on offense? WTF?

Hahah, great effort by the Falcons Center and Tackle to pull Freeman into the endzone.

Re: 2017 NFL Season Thread
I'd love to see a Falcons upset here, as an Eagles fan:
1. Extra day of known-opponent game prep for the Eagles.
2. Won't have to see Brees next week.
3. Won't have to try to beat the Rams twice this season.
I hope the Dirty Birds can hang on here. Hoping for a Saturday game too, to give the Falcons one less day of rest, and the Eagles an extra day of rest for the NFCCG, should they be fortunate enough to win against Atlanta.
