In SUU's defense, I believe they've beaten Texas State two years running and beat UC-D last year. They're likely to be a 5-6 or 6-5 team again this year. Not sure which game SUUTbird isn't counting as a game.clenz wrote:@ Wyoming - LSUUTbird wrote: Personally i think we can get a 7-3 record but thats just me

I'm not convinced you beat NAU either, so I have 3 wins. I'm not shure where you are getting your 7

Well i can say i dont know where your getting your idea of a 3 win season from as we have been improving every year and arent that bad of a team. There are some important facts you are missing or failing to take into account:clenz wrote:@ Wyoming - LSUUTbird wrote: Personally i think we can get a 7-3 record but thats just me

@ Wyoming - L: A decent D1 opponent we get to break in our new QB in this game and see what he can do as well as some new faces on offense and Defense
San Diego - W: Pioneer conference team who we beat last year and this year we get them at home. Have to say we will be fine against SD.
@San Jose State - L: Could very well be a loss here but i think we have a good shot of upsetting the Spartans since plainly they have been horrible the past couple of seasons and i dont see that changing anytime soon. count it as a loss but i give us a chance to make it a possible upset win.
@ Texas State - W: We have beaten the Bobcats the past 3 times we have played them in 2006, 2008 and last year in Cedar City we ran away with the game. Last time we played the Cats in there house we were up 34-7 before putting in our second line and they got 13 points in the 4th. This is a series we have dominated and i know we can continue it this year.
Northern Arizona - W: The past few years we have played the lumberjacks we are always just one play or have just come up short vs these guys and i think because we get them at home this year we have the advantage. Believe it will be another shootout with two QB's but i think we will finally get the upper hand in this one...i hope
@ North Dakota * - W: Last year we beat the Sioux very handily in Cedar City but i can see a close game when we travel up to play them. However i think we will continue to own the series against the Sioux since they became a GWC member.
Cal Poly * - W: There will be alot of factors that will/could come into play in this one. Last year a missed extra point cost us the game which was a very good one. However we play the Mustangs at home AND we will be the 5th road game in a row they play. That will make it very hard for the Mustangs to win, especially if they have injury issues like they did last year.
South Dakota * - W: The Coyotes have had our number the past few seasons but now that Shepard is gone i think that will give us a chance (D could not stop that guy!). We get the Yotes at home and i think that will be enough to get a W.
@ UC Davis * - W: We beat the Aggies last year in a decent game in Cedar City thanks to a combination of great plays on offense, defense and special teams. This was easily the best total team effort we had all year and i think we can beat the Aggies again in their house, however it will be very tough.
Dixie State - W: Neighbor D2 opponent, time to give our starters a break after getting ahead and let our second line get some well needed experience.
@ Eastern Washington -L: What can i say? We get to go travel up to "The Pad" and get to play against a team with one of the best RB's in the sky and what appears to be a great QB. I think we will keep it closer then we did last year however i dont think it will be enough.
Overall Record: 7-3
Looking over this i really do not think that this is all to far fetched. Will it be tough to do? Absolutely especially if the GWC slate is anything like it was last year. However compared to a 3-7 season i feel that this is a much more realistic outcome just based on the fact its quite obvious people are missing the fact that we are improving year after year. Not at all trying to start S%#@t or anything like that just pointing out some of the key facts that may have been overlooked.

Maine football - Yes we are in the CAA. And we're the only CAA team with a winning record against App Stumbear2017 wrote:Maine

I'm tired of losing to SUU. But they do have our number and we will have a new QB so at this point SUU has a great chance once again.

I believe the overall record is 4-6 vs SUU but I don't see us beating them this year with the new QB and all.
Re: Best Non-Conference schedule 2010?
SUU will get beat by USD again this year. Shephard's successor Dante Warren is probably even more talented than Shep. Besides, Shep didn't beat you guys, it was our power running game that we slammed down your throats. If I remember correct last time we were out in Cedar City we had three guys go over a 100 yards. Last year in the DakotaDome I watched USD physically handle SUU up front running for well over 300 yards and both Chris Ganious and Isaac Newton went over 100 yards. The game wasn't even a close one.
Unless SUU gets more physical up front on defense I see much the same thing happening in 2010.

Re: Best Non-Conference schedule 2010?
On defense we have bulked up quite a bit and as a whole we probably have the biggest team we have ever fielded this year. I agree that the game between us and USD will be a good one but i think we can win this won since we are home, both are two different teams from the last time we played in Cedar and also you guys losses on D should help us out. I saw Dante Warren is very talented in the video but again he is a brand new starting QB so i hope he stays that good throught the season. Overall i cant wait to see a (hopefully) great game and i also hope our D is better then it has been latelyYote53 wrote:SUU will get beat by USD again this year. Not much margin of error for them. With the 2 losses to EWU and Montana it's going to be tough to make the playoffs.
No Toone, No Smith, No Bolen. Their O-line better step it up this year and keep the pressure of Higgins or Weber is in for a rough season.
The Best way to say it is Weber lost a whole friggin crap load and the new guys better step up fast, or it will be as you and BearIt say a very rough season.
