It's called being an informed voter

If I don't know enough about someone to cast an intelligent and informed vote, I won't vote for the person
Interesting perspective from a fellow who's party nominee got elected by millions and millions of people who didn't have a fucking CLUE what their candidate stood for.
the people that decided the election were the moderates in the middle, as is the case with most every national election.

About 48% of americans will vote republican no matter what, about 48% will vote dem no matter what, it's the 5% or so in the middle that determine elections. Hell, I know TONS of conservatives that voted for McSame, even though the knew without a doubt that Pallin was a clueless dumbass.

To your point, a ton of people voted for Obama knowing that Biden (a known commodity at the time) was and is a clueless dumbass.

The thought of having either a President Palin or President Biden are enough to entertain Canadian immigration. :ohno:

To your point, there was also a LARGE sect of people who voted for Obama because of his skin color. They didn't care, or even know necessarily, what his views were. All they cared was he was black and they wanted to say that they voted for the first black president.

Dude....your ignorance knows no bounds:

2008 - 64.1% of eligible voters cast ballots
2004 - 55.3%
2000 - 51.3%
1996 - 49.1%
1992 - 55.1%
1988 - 50.1%
1984 - 53.2%

So, we average roughly 52.5% of eligible voters voting, and suddenly in 2008 it jumps to never-before seen numbers of 64.1% of eligible voters casting ballots. 16,416,000 African Americans voted in the 2008 presidential election. 96% of those voted for Obama (that's 15,759,360 votes for Obama, 656,640 for McCain (hell, even GWB got 11% of the black vote in 2004, when only 13 million blacks voted...hmmm, wonder why turncoats like JC Watts and Colin Powell voted for the "other" guy??). That's a vote differential of 15,102,720 --- JUST FOR THE AFRICAN AMERICAN VOTE. Overall Obama got 69,456,897 votes, McCain got 59,934,814. So, in the NON-African American demographic, McCain beat Obama 59,278,194-53,697,537.

You still think the "moderates" elected Obama? If you do, I've got a bridge in Brooklyn I need to get rid of.

I didn't say a single thing about race. I also didn't say anything about moderates. I suggest you take an on-line course in reading comprehension, or at least go back and read what I actually said.

The fact is that there is a certain % of voters on each side that vote a certain way no matter who is running. They for the most part cancel each other out. The so called "swing" voters decide the election. It doesn't matter if those swing voters are black, white, green,or purple.

As everyone here knows, I'm about as anti-Obama as they come without being an out-and-out Tea Partier (even if I do have a crush on Sarah Palin). But I find I gotta question Paul here on at least one point.

I understand the Reagan-esque pro-big business stance. To some degree, I'll even go with the trickle-down economics idea. But how in the heck is criticism of a FOREIGN COMPANY somehow "unAmerican?!?" Especially since they're from a nation we've taken down at least twice in war. Anyone see how Paul is justifying this amazing jump in logic?

Not everyone who fits your definition of "dumb@$$ conservative wack-job" would go for a statement like that, OSBF. Me, for one. And while I can't speak for everyone, I doubt that many of the "conks" on this board would go for it, either.

Actually, yes it is. And if you can't see that you're dumber than I gave you credit for originally. And OB, YOU need reading comprehension since you used the word "moderate" in your original misguided diatribe. There is a certain % of voters who vote on each side, sure. But when one side gets another 4-5 million uneducated voters to come out and push the button, it ain't the fuckin' "moderates" that got him elected. It was the young, starry-eyed, koolaid drinkin' lap dogs and the African Americans who typically don't vote. THAT'S what got him elected.
