The epitome of "progressivism" , Woodrow Wilson, dove head first into WWI after campaigning to stay out of it.
Obama explained his reasons for the unholy alliances with "Big Pharma" and those dirty evil health insurance companies....its a step by step process. We couldn't just go from a semi private system to a single payer system overnight. Believe me, and I think you know this, his ultimate goal is socialized, government run, single payer health care.
