If you want to talk about intangibles, then that is a different story.

I'm just talking about pure ability and basketball skills.

There is a big difference between having the most ability and being the best player. Ability isn't always realized.

Intangibles are part of what makes someone the best player. Some guys find ways to win and some don't, it's hard to argue that someone is the best player in the game when they haven't won anything.

USA 89 - 74 Lithuania
10 - 15 point margin from the mid first quarter and on.

Durant sets a USA Basketball and 2010 World Championship record with 38 points on 14 - 25 shooting. I've got to imagine Durant will be tournament MVP at this point.

Turkey 83 - 82 Serbia
what a freakin finish , was 81-82 to Serbia with 4 seconds remaining , turkey got 2 points from the play after the timeout with half a second remaining

USA v. Turkey
Sunday 9/12
at 2:30 EDT
on ESPN

The ESPN announcers just said "no one in the world can stop Kevin Durant" :thumb: :notworthy:

This overblown hyperbole is why many choose not to watch hoops anymore.

He couldn't get a bucket off of Johnson, Bird, Erving, etc.

SuperHornet's Athletics Hall of Fame includes Jacksonville State kicker Ashley Martin, the first girl to score in a Division I football game. She kicked 3 PATs in a 2001 game for J-State.

He's 6'10" with a 7'5" wingspan, Bird, Johnson and Erving are over 50 years old, they couldn't stop him.

Hoops is much better now than it was a few years ago. This new batch of stars is fun to watch IMO.

Posts like that are so stupid that you shouldn't be allowed to have the word Super in your name. I'm pretty sure that Hornets are too happy that you are used their name either.

Which is why he couldn't get a bucket off of them, they would be near him.

World Champions For the first time since 1994, the USA Men's World Championship team won the gold medal in the FIBA World Championship. Behind Kevin Durant's 28 points, the USA defeated host nation Turkey, 81-64, on Sunday in Istanbul to stand alone atop the international basketball world

Looking only that the picture I can name one of the players on that team, and I'm not 100% on her even. I think the white one in the front is Sue Bird. I'm pretty sure the one in the middle is Candace Parker, but still not 100%

KARLOVY VARY (2010 FIBA World Championship for Women) - The United States blew out Spain on Saturday night to set up a mouthwatering Final against the Czech Republic at the FIBA World Championship for Women on Sunday.

The USA will now take on the host nation in front of what promises to be a an electric, partisan crowd.

United States coach Geno Auriemma spoke to Czech counterpart Lubor Blazek before he left the court and went to meet with his players in the locker room.

Czech Republic 81 - 77 Belarus
USA 106 - 70 Spain

United States wins gold at worlds

KARLOVY VARY, Czech Republic -- Sue Bird handed the world championship trophy to Tamika Catchings and the two embraced, sharing a large grin.

The only blemish on their distinguished U.S. basketball career was now gone after an 89-69 victory over the Czech Republic in the women's basketball title game Sunday night.
