What the hell is it with FCS teams west of the Mississippi and their white running backs?
Many rural states West of the Mississippi have a very high white population percentage, and some of this percentage happen to be pretty d-mn good gridders, and some of those like to run with the oblate spheroid.
Hence, Kyle Minnet, Chase Reynolds, and others. You can laugh--we'll applaud.
Well SDSU has played in some tough venues...but don't count out the Delaware crowd. That always plays a factor in any game. But I believe that they have been focused on this game for weeks. They will come prepared and try to execute a perfect game plan in harsh conditions. I expect SDSU to squeak by here by 3-7 points. SDSU's defense needs some improvement. I expect a 21-24 score with SDSU being the one celebrating at the end.
Might be rooting for Delaware in this one though. I really want to see them play the griz in the playoffs (barring if the griz get in the playoffs! haha)
SDSU has to replace 3 guys on the OL, they lost all their top wideouts, and from looking at last year's stats the QB isn't a running threat.
I won't doubt that SDSU has a really good RB but it sounds like he'll need to do a lot by himself. UD's defense is very solid and the front 7 is quick and physical.
Forget passing downfield much as Grant, Walters and Bratton are all big-time players.
Couple all this with Devlin facing a secondary that is missing it's best player.
Someone tell me why I shouldn't be feeling really really good about this one??

I think you should feel good about it. Your players probably feel great. We're clearly overmatched in every aspect of the game of football. I don't doubt we'll walk out of your tub with a great sense of appreciation for having been given the opportunity to play the Blue Hens.

Trailed the entire game? I think you are 'mis-remembering'. UNI had the lead the entire first half, and the game was tied for most of the second half.
The game was lost on three bonehead plays by UNI players. An INT on a WR reverse pass (wtf?..), a punt that was 'muffed' by a UNI true freshman who just had a brain lapse and inexplicpably reached out and touched a rolling punt, and the Grace telegraphed INT for a TD at the end. And after all of that, SIU wins by 1 TD.
Well it's entirely off topic, but I do random graphics and happen to have this crazy crush on Lady Gaga. haha. So I do a lot of random stuff involving her a lot of times. She has a song called "Alejandro", and me being as clever as I am, changed it to "Grizzyandro".

At least two of your three listed "bonehead plays" were the result of defensive pressure. When a team like UNI throws a WR reverse pass inside the opponents 10 yd line, it means that you're getting handled. You had 3rd and goal from the three less than a minute before the half and took a FG, your opening drive of the 2nd half you turned the ball over on downs from 3rd and 2, your third trip inside the 10 yard line netted another FG in the 4th quarter when you chose not to run on 3rd and goal at the 1. Obviously, you were handled.
Everything is leaning UD's way for this game from travel to injuries, I would consider it an upset if SDSU wins in Delaware.

Depends on if the Jacks fall behind early and have to abandon the run. Last year Minnet had over 5 ypc against SIU, but he only got 11 carries because it was 27-3 at the half despite SDSU having the ball over 18 minutes of the first half.
This is something I noticed about both the Bison and the Jacks last year - they could hold on to the ball but they didn't do much with it.
If the game stays close in the 1st half Minnet should get 100 yds. Jacks need to take some shots down the field early

Post Game - Any number of reasons (turnover, etc) can be added. But the visible to me all day was both UD lines out played SDSU. And I mean no disrespect to the Jackrabbits; you guys are going to win some games. But if your radio guys didn't say it, that was the ball game IMHO.
Kudos to UD defense; 10-12 minutes left they had given up 25yds rushing & 140 total before the O'Brien to Kool (??) play.
