As someone affected by the freeze, I really have no problem with this.

That being said, I suspect this is just a feeble attempt to appease the austerity folks. This needs to be followed up with cuts across the board. I don't mind doing my part, but I want to know that it will actually make a difference, not garner votes.

If this is just a start, then I say it is a good start. If it is just a publicity ploy then it is a sh!tty one.

We're being frozen at the 2010 pay scales. I haven't heard about any furloughs yet. If they happen I'll likely go back home and raise pigs on the compound, anyway.

I had a couple furlough days at the old police department back in 2008, but no word on that at State, at least not yet.
