Once again. I feel faitly confident the crew installing the surface has a little more insight and experience doing this than you. But if you feel froggy why don't you jump on over there and straighten 'em out. Since the method of inserting the logos and hash marks I described in my previous post came from one of those workers installing the turf, you may want to re think that whole "you sounded like you had no idea what you were talking about" line.ODUalum11 wrote:Nope, I don't feel any better. I didn't realize sandman talked to the installers - that would have been good information to know, since I thought his knowledge might have been gathered from sleeping at a Holiday Inn Express.ODUalum11 wrote:it was a joke. relax.ASUSandman wrote:

For the record, I am not nor have I ever been a Field Turf installer so I have to plead ignorance on how it's put down. That's why I ask questions of those who are closer to it for my own education on the matter. Clearly you've been much closer to KBS and the turf install than my webcam viewing so I'll defer to your much greater knowledge base on the matter.

Number One: THE TURF IS NOT CUT FOR LOGOS OR HASH MARKS. THERE ARE NO SEAMS IN THIS SURFACE EXCEPT WHERE THE YARD LINES AND SIDE LINES MEET.
Number Two: THERE ARE NO PAINTED SURFACES. IT IS ALL COLORED FIBERS. NO PART OF THE SURFACE HAS ANY DIFFERENT GRIP, OR THE LACK THERE OF, THAN THE REST OF IT.
Number Three: IF YOU HAD BEEN PAYING ATTENTION OVER THE PAST TEN YEARS YOU WOULD KNOW THESE NEW GENERATION SURFACES HAVE PROVEN TO BE FAR MORE RESISTENT TO KNEE AND OTHER JOINT INJURIES THAN NATURAL GRASS.
You are dismissed!

I really don't care if it has seams as I: 1) don't have to play on it, and 2) have no idea (nor care to know) how field turf is installed. I actually agree with you that that the installers probably know what they're doing.

Being honest, for a field that has a track around I don't think it looks that bad. And who cares when the product on the field is pretty good and successful?

I apologize for thinking this is a public forum and not realizing it's a private conversation between you two guys, with an occasional smart azz remark tossed in by that ODU clown. Perhaps if you had started your post "Hey T-dog" I might have understood the question was directed to him. I simply attempted to shed some light on the subject to which you call me Francis and tell me to pipe down. Then you take me to task for my "condensending" response. BTW, if you have been paying attention to football since before I was a gleam in my father's eye, you would be closing in on 60 years old. I'm quite confident you're more like 25. I don't do things like installing turf. I hire young bucks like you to do things for me. And what's with the WF moniker? No real App Fan would have a WF (or any other school's) logo associated with their name. This is from someone who grew up a WF fan, but once I walked onto campus I became 100% Mountaineer. What happens when we go FBS and play WF again? Who will your loyality be with?

What a silly string of comments this has turned into. I think the turf looks awesome and it's not even done yet. One thing I think we all can agree on is that it looks a hell of a lot better without the soccer/ field hockey lines on it.

I'm not really sure who put the sand in your vajajay, but that's none of my business. I'm not getting in a pissing match over turf installation. As for my my age, ASUMountaineer nailed it that although I'd like to be, I'm no longer 25 - you could try to hire me but I'm quite certain you couldn't afford me. As for the WF moniker, that's where I earned my MBA - I'll try harder to keep up with your complex postings better going forward.
