What’s the word up there regarding the young Mollberg athlete out of Detroit Lakes? Will any of the Dakota schools land him? His grandfather was the long time athletic director at DL who loved to hunt ducks and fish walleye. Great guy and a great family.

The decision area football fans have been waiting on for a couple weeks now has happened. QB Joe Mollberg from Detroit Lakes, MN has made his decision and he has chosen the University of North Dakota. Mollberg also had offers from NDSU and SDSU. Back in June, the Fargo Forum had run an erroneous article stating Mollberg had pared it down to Iowa and NDSU as his favorites. That was never the case according to Mollberg. We are not sure that UND was the front-runner in June but he was definitely leaning to UND as August rolled around.

Re: The UND-NDSU Rivalry
There is not a rivalry in FB. There are no games even scheduled. The bitter rival for the Bison is now UNI. Pehaps NDSU and UND may meet in the playoffs in the near future. If they do, it will be the hottest ticket in years. But, there really is no rivalry when you don't play.
Re: The UND-NDSU Rivalry
Thanks for the stats Lakes. Very interesting.lakesbison wrote:shut this thread down.
NDSU belongs with the FBS teams, UNI, SDSU, MINNESOTA are our rivals in EVERY SPORT.
we brought 20,000+ to TCF and the twin cities area, we travel well, we fill the fargodome with any team, its over you losers.
und isnt a rival, its just douchebags like darrel with small penises that try and ride our coattails, we are over them.
PS.. programs are NIGHT and day.
I took this from another board:
UND: (currently in year 4 - i think)
Games played to date: 36
overall record during transition: 17-19 (0.4722)
Record by division -
FCS: 10-13 (0.4348)
FBS: 0-5 (0.000)
DII: 4-0 (1.000)
DIII/NAIA: 3-1 (.750 - hehe)
*It is worth noting that in their 2nd year of transition (09-10) they got beat by Sioux Falls of the NAIA, but they also played another NAIA school that year in Southern Oregon and only squeaked out a 6 point win at home.
---------------------------------------------
NDSU (completed 5 year transition)
Games played: 54
overall record during transition: 41-13 (0.7592)
Record by division -
FCS: 35-11 (0.7609)
FBS: 3-2 (0.6000)
DII: 2-0 (1.0000)
DIII/NAIA (1-0)
*NDSU had 30 FCS wins already through week 4 of their 4th year of transition. I would say there is no comparison.
Actually UND is competiting at the level of a decent D2 team?
I wonder if this new QB from DL will be as great as the guy they have now! I have rarely heard more praise heaped on a QB recruit than UND heaped on Bradley.
Dear Lord, We come before you and humbly ask you to grant our prayer for a veil of protection to be placed over Donald Trump. May your will be done. In Jesus name we pray. Amen

Re: The UND-NDSU Rivalry
Still the name calling huh lakes. Typical. Since you love stats...NDSU's record after that 41-13 transition record...6-5, the next year....3-8. WOW 9-13!!!!! I still love that you make fun of our loss to NAIA loss to Sioux Falls but you don't make fun of SDSU who lost to DIII Wisconsin-Lacrosse. Thats right you are over us.JBB wrote:Thanks for the stats Lakes. Very interesting.lakesbison wrote:shut this thread down.

All I have ever stated is that in an intelligent, mature conversation where there is a disagreement, I doubt name calling follows. Seriously, let's act our age fellows instead of talking about threats of physical violence on an Internet message board.

Tunnel vision? Ummm he threatened physical violence and being a member of this message board it is my right to step in and say "a bit much?" seriously it's a game, threatening physical violence, penis comments...if that's what you and your fanbase consider a conversation in a mature fashion, you got issues.JBB wrote:Thats the tough guy routine. Your passive aggressive routine is not reasoned or level headed. You have nothing when it comes to mature conversation except a lot of hot air.dgreenwell3 wrote:Tunnel vision? There you go again. You insist on posting but yet you bring nothing to the conversation except to target individuals so you can aggravate them and then tell us all what a reasonable person you are. Really, you have nothing to say on the topic and never have, so why do you act that way?

The topic was my maturity after you insulted my last name, what does that bring to the table? Going to ignore list...

You have made youself worthy of nothing but contempt. Please work on your coding.
If you have nothing to add to the topic I suggest you take your unpleasantness over to one of the Montana or EWU threads. Many of them seem to be cut from the same cloth as you Mr. Green Jeans.

I guess his indicating UND comes as no surprise as, I think, he has expressed an interest in medicine. In addition the Laker team physician is a UND alum as well as chairman of the DL school board. Plus, I assume, Coach Manke is somewhere in the picture as all of his sons graduated and played football at UND. At any rate I wish the young man well in whatever he decides.Darell1976 wrote:He committed to UND!!!northernfire wrote:What’s the word up there regarding the young Mollberg athlete out of Detroit Lakes? Some posters on siouxsports.com says if he went to NDSU with their depth he may not be in competition for a start until he was a junior, where at UND he may have a better shot at starting earlier. UND coaches were at the DL game so I can imagine they were taking notes and Mollberg was at the Potato Bowl game in Grand Forks so that pretty much sealed the deal.northernfire wrote:I guess his indicating UND comes as no surprise as, I think, he has expressed an interest in medicine. DUDE ST FU
i have season tickets to the gopher football team. I know more about big time than you do, you're obviously a UND fan posing as a gopher fan.
Because true gopher sports fans laugh at und and hockey, wisconsin is their rivals, michigan. give it up.
Plus you resurrect a thread from 3 months ago on the 1st day of FCS playoffs. HAHA. EPIC FAIL TROLL
and you're comparing beating BCS teams on the road vs a D2 win, buy a clue and go smoke some arsenic with darrel.

NOT STICKING UP for Lakes but it's funny you trash talk attendance when the Gophers have a new stadium that they can't even fill with how many people in the Twin City's? NDSU vs MINN in football is a one sided rivalry as I know the Gophers don't look at it as a rivalry. But the "We schedule you as a cup-cake game" makes you look bad dude because the Gophers have been the cup-cake in the last 3 games and are a game winning FG block away from losing all three. Trash talk Lakes all you want but at least don't talk down on his levelbig ten minnesota wrote:let me get this straight lakes bison, first of all you have no buisness being in the fbs level. so you beat a shitty gopher football team who you had two weeks to study on before you played them. by the way dont ever again say we are rivals we never were and never will be! We schedule you as a cup-cake game ( it just so happens the gophers suck in football) we consider 1 dakota school to be a rival and that is UND who we play EVERY year. you beat a kansas team when they are having a crappy year and all of a sudden you think your at an fbs level? you make fun of und losing to sioux falls a very good naia who should be d2 a long time ago and cling on and consider uni a rival, und beat uni when und was a d2 team but your not dissing them, you are considering them a rival. if i remember correctly und owned you at least the last 4 times you played them. so if und made the transition at the same time im pretty sure they would still be owning you! as for the little sayings under the postings (teams should brag that they get to play at the fargo dome) you guys dont really think that square piece of crap ugly looking building is nice do you? nobody else does! as for attendance you should sell out every game you have 100,000 people in a small town and two other colleges. you should sell out no problem but yet you havnt this year. all in all just keep your mouths shut bison fans because you arn't nothin but a bunch of thundering nerds
