Consular / counselor

Our Consul General pronounces it “counselor”

He is a very experienced consular officer and a good dude so I let it go

MAQA - putting the Q into qrazy qanon qult qonspiracy theories since 2015.

It will probably be difficult for MAQA yahoos to overcome the Qult programming but they should give being rational & reasonable a try.

Been thinking about how we might bring economy back to life.
Because restaurants have been able to do things like drive-thru and take-out/delivery, and because sitting down in close proximity of others for an extended period of time would be questionable, I think they will not reopen early.

Stores are hit the hardest. I think they will open first with limits on number of customers at a time.
Offices will probably return with staggered force, with others working from home.

Theaters (live shows) are screwed. Maybe limited attendance with spacing required.

Sporting events will probably begin without fans. Then slowly work up to limited attendance.

Dentists, Hair cuttererrrs? No clue.
But something must be done with all these gray-haired middle aged wimin. :puke:

Really going to be interesting seeing people without some of their beauty regimens. Might start seeing some bad home-dye jobs...Home haircuts anyone?

Saw a good meme about how terrible school pictures will be because parents are cutting their hair. The accompanying photo was like 1980's yearbook or something. I lol'd.

I was already shaggy heading into this. I’m now approaching Kris Kristofferson circa 1975. I’ll take it all the way to early David Gilmour if I have too. Although after the trimmer started running out of juice yesterday I did carve out some sweet lamb chops. That brings a detour to Joe Dirt into play. And ponytail and man buns. There’s no limit to my madness. All for god and country!

I've been doing that for years. Last time I went to a barber was day before I got married.

Did you forget the word “barbers?” Lol

I’m in need of a haircut. I’m a week away from saying, “fuck it” and taking clippers to myself.

So I just did a complete “tele-doc” doctors appointment with my GP. I’ve been having swelling in my extremities (a side effect, it turns out, of the BP medicine he has me on)....anyway, the whole thing is cool as shit. If I were a doctor, I’d start doing ALL my well-visits this way....

What's so cool about it? Was it just video conferencing which could have been done over the phone, or was it more?

Yes, that’s all it was. But the fact that a doctor was willing to do it was what was cool. Usually you gotta drag your sorry ass down there and wait in his lobby for an hour.

So it wasn't a real tele-doc thingy. No BP, temp, pulse, oxygen, etc. readings done, right? Just consultation.

Still better than going to the doctor's office, I agree. :thumb:

Because I lost a shitboat of money on a tele-med company some 20 years ago. They had all the gizmos. I thought it was great. Then fraudulent activities occurred within the company and went bankrupt. I got a tiny fraction back through class action litigation. :ohno: :ohno:
