Waah. Its not violating IA or any federal law. If they want to publish Fake News they shouldn’t be given one of the limited access spots that there’s not enough room for 100+ press outlets for. Same goes for any outlet that calls illegal aliens ‘Undocumented’UNI88 wrote: ↑Wed Feb 12, 2025 4:16 pm Karoline Leavitt throws temper tantrum over AP & 'Gulf of America'
How many Constitutional Amendments can trump trample all over? The White House claimed on Monday the Associated Press' editorial policy regarding the Gulf of Mexico’s name amounted to “lies,” as it banned one of its reporters from its events for the second day in a row.
The White House barred multiple AP reporters from covering different events on Tuesday, including an Oval Office event with President Donald Trump and Elon Musk. On Wednesday, it again prevented one of its reporters from attending Tulsi Gabbard’s swearing-in ceremony to become the Director of National Intelligence, CNN’s Brian Stelter reported.
The moves have sparked widespread condemnation from press freedom groups and the AP, which said it “plainly violates the First Amendment.”

The AP isn't just a news organization. They serve an important role by providing news to other news organizations.
Denying them access is childish and vindictive and it is fair to argue that it is a violation of the 1st Amendment.

"It is fair to argue that it is a violation of the 1st Amendment" is my opinion. I doubt the AP will take them to court due to fear of more childish retribution though."Punishing journalists for not adopting state-mandated terminology is an alarming attack on press freedom," the Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression, a nonprofit which advocates for First Amendment protections, said in response to the White House's action. "That's viewpoint discrimination, and it's unconstitutional. President Trump has the authority to change how the U.S. government refers to the Gulf. But he cannot punish a news organization for using another term."
"Denying them access is childish and vindictive" is based on my substantial experience as a parent, coach and teacher which makes it an expert opinion.

Once again, the AP provides news to other news organizations many of them smaller without the resources to send someone to DC. By denying them access trump is denying all of the news organizations that rely on them access. Is that intentional? Is trump trying to keep people in the dark? Is he trying to control the message rather than having a free and independent press that might tell a different story rather than pushing his agenda?

On a separate note, I don't buy "years of research" will be lost without funding. Let's see what shakes out.
If Elon wants to turn his rockets and shitty cars over to the government, he can… I guess.

In regards to profit, bullshit. It's about capability. Can you devise a rocket system that will transport us to space in a reusable, economically feasible way, and can we cure ALS. Capabilities.
