There are witnesses that are obviously saying different things.

It would be a totally different matter if the damn cop car had a dashcam with sound. :ohno:
Agreed. But I still think the conversation in this video is one of the best because it is raw and unrehearsed. It doesn't provide a ton of detail but it does provide some important information.

Meh. He might have thought it was another black kid he was kinda shocked to hear the police shot him.

He also admits to not seeing anything - as does anyone else that you can hear say that they didn't see it, just heard the shots.

However, I want everyone to watch what comes out today. There are two more witnesses that will only come foward during the trial. This police department has to be investigation by the DOJ. Too many people saying the same thing. IMHO, they need to push back the Grand Jury anothet three weeks. Too many hans in the cookie jar, and something is going to get lost.

Then there are these two accounts that suggest he turned around and did not advance towards the officer.

I'm not sure what to think.
My kneejerk reaction is to think about the officers. I would like to see them protected as much as possible. Especially considering the fact that criminals are more heavily armed than ever before. People are offended by shields and helmets and vests? WTF? They are there because YOU are there, and they have no idea if or how YOU are going to snap.

I heard some criticism on the news about the camo uniforms. Maybe there is a case for them to wear the traditional blue or black instead. Not sure if that makes a difference so, meh. It would differentiate them from the National Guard, which would be considered a higher level of response though.

I do find it strange that tear gas canisters are deployed with a gun in some cases. Seems that throwing them would allow for an adjustment of speed that would be less confrontational.
Well, maybe we should try to do something about THAT, instead of slowly turning into a police state. :coffee:

Look at countries with low rates of police officers killed in the line of duty and follow their results.

Fuck, most cops in the UK don't even carry guns.

13 police officers killed in the line of duty in the last decade. 5 police officers shot in the the UK in the last decade.

Why is that? :coffee:

It seems you are suggesting a UK model. So how do we get from where we are to where they are?

This is shitty policing and hopefully Officer Fuck You gets his due after the dust settles.

Assuming he has a round in the chamber, that is just really stupid to be pointing the weapon at people. Carry it at the ready, sure, but not flashing everyone with the muzzle. Dumb ass.

Agreed. This is just a poor job at "keeping the peace".
Question though; Could that be a rubber bullet gun? What does one of those look like?

No. It's definitely a rifle with a short-to-mid-range optic and appears to be an AR, though the video is too grainy for me to say so with absolute certainty.

A "rubber bullet gun" as you call it usually a shotgun or grenade launcher style of system that fires a non-lethal round that is larger so as not to penetrate skin.
