“The real issue here is that all of Democrats’ whining about billionaires is a distraction from the extravagant spending by Congress. As Musk himself pointed out recently, if you zeroed out all the billionaires, i.e. took everything they owed in a single year, it still wouldn’t equal the amount of money Congress has spent (and is still hoping to spend) this year alone. Build Back Better, if it passes this month, could cost taxpayers $3 trillion over the next decade (assuming provisions aren’t allowed to sunset). That’s ten times Musk’s entire net worth but that’s just one bill. We have another $29 trillion in debt already on the books. Musk’s wealth is truly insignificant compared to this amount of debt.“

I wonder if Musk would benefit from Build Back Better?

I haven't read this but I saw that exchange go down yesterday. So glorious! I love the "Senator Karen" remark.

Way too many people on there think his $15B tax bill isn't enough. He'll pay nearly 50% in taxes. That's not enough!?

We are beyond drunken sailor levels. The government is in a category of their own. BBB is going to be a another bill that the money is mostly flushed down the drain to line pockets of those voting for it and their lackeys.

Just think about the scorn that will be directed at Millenials and Gen Z by the following generations for being so selfish. It will put Trip's scorn for Boomers to shame.

That said. Looks like BBB will not be voted on this year by the Senate and time they bring it back it will be DOA. But your point still stands about the amount of spending that has already happened.

Curious about this. Why do really old people get dogs that are significantly active and will likely outlive their owner? I'm not even sure how much of a dog guy Biden has been in the past, given his frequent back and forth's to DC over the past 50 years or so. But given his advancing age and diminished capabilities, can he really take care of a puppy at this point. No doubt it's great for the photo op and it's cute saying he likes dogs, but would other almost 80 year olds be getting a puppy at this stage of life if they didn't have an expansive staff and secret service to take care of it?

AOC underestimated Manchin because of bias against the South
"Ocasio-Cortez couldn't win one county in the state of West Virginia, and they made the critical mistake of underestimating somebody because of where they're from. And people from the South have historically used that to their advantage. Just like, 'please assume that I'm stupid because I talk funny. Please assume that you could get one over on me easily because I'm from Virginia or West Virginia', and then you sit back and you watch … their pomposity melt into horror when they realize they've lost," McDowell said.
...
McDowell went on to slam the left's "temper tantrums" from Ocasio-Cortez, Ilhan Omar, and Ayanna Pressley on national television. "Since whens do temper tantrums make you look strong? They look weak," she said.

The left never learns. For the leftist elite LA/NY/DC types, when they can’t get their way, its always because of the ignorant redneck, hillbilly south and flyover state types attitude. Prime example:
