The entire MAGA doesn’t want Mexicans in the US narrative is overwhelming not true. Most people just want the border and immigration laws to be enforced, not an illegal invasion

So they want the increased enforcement supported by congressional Republicans before Trump said don’t vote for it?Caribbean Hen wrote: ↑Tue Dec 24, 2024 7:04 amIt should be obvious

Trump has never suggested making a part of Mexico our 51st State?
He only wants the good ones while the Dems want the bad ones?
You sure about all that?
My man Nathan J (who’s clearly anything but a dumbass) raises a good question. I’m sorry he angers you so much.

Will Trump follow through as promised and join Bernie Sanders in making life easier on working class Americans?
https://www.foxnews.com/politics/bernie ... p-proposalWhile campaigning in New York before winning the election against Vice President Kamala Harris, Trump threw his support behind a "temporary cap on credit card interest rates."
"We’re going to cap it at around 10%. We can’t let them make 25 and 30%."
Trump framed the temporary policy as something to help Americans as they "catch up."
The amount of credit card debt held by Americans rose to $1.17 trillion in the third quarter of 2024, per MarketWatch.
According to data from Lending Tree, the average credit card interest rate in December was 24.43%, MarketWatch also reported.

Depends on how you measure the increase:
- trump: 19.9 to 27.7 trillion is a 39.2% increase in 4 years
- biden: 27.7 to 36.4 trillion is a 31.4% increase in 4 years

President Biden, in his first three years and five months in office, approved $4.3 trillion of new ten-year borrowing, or $2.2 trillion excluding the American Rescue Plan.
President Trump approved $8.8 trillion of gross new borrowing and $443 billion of deficit reduction during his full presidential term.

Oversimplification. So many factors from foreign aid and military spending to support UKR and Israel. Trump’s tax cuts were the main driver for debt creation. Tax cuts for the wealthy do not generate the ROI that infrastructure spending does.
There’s also the reality of inheriting a strong economy vs a shitty one. Government spending brings our economy out of economic crises. FDR, Truman, Ike, Reagan, and Obama all utilized it.
Austerity during crises worsens the situation for the working class and can lead to prolonging economic recovery.

Well, we proved that excessive government spending once an economy was already pulling out of economic crisis, which is what Biden did when he stepped into office with an already surging economy and dumped record levels of spending on top of it, creates unnecessary and harmful inflation. Also reduces real wages for an extended period of time. That's a lesson we all learned.kalm wrote: ↑Mon Jan 06, 2025 9:02 amOversimplification. “Excessive” is an opinion. Re: The Official "Making America Great Again" Thread
"Excessive" is an observation based on impact. There were plenty of warnings in Q1 2020 that further government spending and COVID relief was both unnecessary and potentially damaging. Those warnings were proven true when the spending was put through anyway and real wages, as a result of runaway inflation, decreased over the 4 year period Biden's administration was in control. No opinion required there, just facts.kalm wrote: ↑Mon Jan 06, 2025 9:46 am“Excessive” is an opinion. But OK.
Additional facts, the US economy, a measured by GDP, grew by an average 4.35% over the three quarters prior to Biden's loosening of the government spigots, including a whopping 8.7% growth from Q2 to Q3 of 2020. COVID was a flicking off and then flicking on again phenomenon on the economy, which was in generally good shape prior to the pandemic. The economic crisis was over by the time Biden took over. His spending was an opportunistic gamble that he could use the pandemic as cover to fund things we normally wouldn't throw money at. The resulting runaway inflation was the outcome of that. Just because you don't remember it doesn't make it not true.
